I had a hiatus from HP as I discovered a whole new world of fantasy writing in A Song of Ice and Fire (very mature fantasy/intrigue writing! As in death, blood, destruction and s-e-x - exactly my kinda reading, lol) The first book is called A Game of Thrones by George RR Martin. I highly, highly recommend! They're making an HBO series on it!
