And Emily... yeah, I'll be honest with you and admit that the Emily sub-plot was something that I hadn't planned and then sort of just shoved into the chapter, so I don't really know where exactly it's going... but yes, for now, to you (and me for that matter) she is a bit of a cow.

I like the idea and I real think you did a good job of explaining the reason that she had wanted to leave England and all that for Australia. I cant wait to see how she tells her family that she is back. And just cant wait till she knows who the barman is.
