Okay, I guess I should feel bad for Ava. And I do, because you wrote her emotions down so perfectly.
However, at the same time, I can't help but dislike her a bit, considering she was the one who broke up with Ian in the fist place, and he did wait for her for eight months.

In fact, Ian doesn't seem like a bad guy. At all.
I think he would have been a quite likeable character if we were to read about him eight months back. Ava leaving him seriously messed him up.

Lastly, Louis.
If there is anyone I truly feel bad for, it's him. He doesn't deserve what Ava's doing to him. And I hope she gets it together and doesn't wreck it with him like she did for Ian.

Author's Response: I understand what you mean. Yes, she's in an awful place. Yes, she's absolutely devastated and heart broken. But let's face it - she did it to herself. He didn't want any of this to happen, but it did, and he's just protecting himself now.

About the drunk hookup thing, well yes, I'll admit I saw it coming, I'll admit I found it cliche, but you say there is a twist coming? Another reason to keep reading. :D

Lastly, isn't Louis taking advantage of Ava? And he said he didn't need to get her drunk to do that. Doesn't that lower him to the same level as Matt?

Haha, this is brilliant. So ordinary, yet compelling to read. It's snarky without being annoying to the eyes, it's funny without trying too hard. And you've introduced the main characters so well that I can already form pictures of them in my mind without looking at the chapter images.

I'm interested to see where this story is going, because so far, the only hint of a plot is the fact that Ava's trying to escape the wizarding world.

Absolutely. I think that would be a very good idea, although I doubt she's carry through with it.

I have to give a thumbs up to Louis in this chapter. Ava is seriously messed up in some aspects and he still sticks with her. Usually, men run as far away from these issues as possible - because what's more scary than an emotional woman? But he keeps coming back and for that I bow in respect.

I hope Ava overcomes her Ian issues with the help of Louis, because as much as I understand that she has problems letting go of the man she loves, it was HER decision to leave.

Wow that was so sad. All of it. But...I mean I feel really sorry for Ava and how upset she is and everything...I really do...but she's so stupid. I mean about social views. And Ian is too. Even if their parents and the socialites don't like their relationship, that doesn't mean he can't work for the company and it doesn't mean they can't be together. Wouldn't most people, outside that small social circle, like that someone rich and famous was dating someone normal? That is if she's a kind, intelligent, normal person from the middle (or lower?) class? That would look good. It would make him seem more relatable and down-to-earth. I don't know what the company does, but I don't see why everyone would criticize their rationship so much...and if they're both still in love I don't understand why they would let that get between them.
But at the same time I guess I do kind of understand. Those kinds of things can be wearing on a relationship, especially coming from the parents. I'm also wondering where Ava's parents are in all of this. But while I feel bad for her and I do believe she loves him quite a lot, I can't help but think that...if they can't past something like that, even when they're in love...they're just not meant to be. Their relationship just isn't that strong.
I don't know, maybe I'm viewing this in a weird way, but that's just how I feel right now...maybe I'm biased because I love Louis so much and he likes her.
Speaking of Louis -he is so sweet. I adore him. And I think he was upset because Ava said their tryst was a mistake. He's adorable. And I feel so bad for him because he's really in a weird place, isn't he? He clearly likes Ava and cares about her, but she sees Ian every time she looks at him. I suppose it's probably not horrible right now, since they hardly know each other, though.

Author's Response: I know. It was sad. I seem to have that problem with my writing, haha. You have a good point - most people are thrilled when famous/important figures start dating normal people. However, in this case, it's the upper class that's the problem. Since Ian's family runs with the higher ups, those are the people they're concerned about. Those are the people's opinions who matter to them, and those people just don't like Ava. They don't like her clothes, they don't like her manners (or lack of them), they don't like her job, and they don't like her status. So it's not that /everyone/ was criticizing their relationship, just the peeps who Ian's family really care about. You know how it is, like on TV shows with the elite circle of people who know everyone's business. Yeah.
THIS. A lot of it also had to do with his parents - we'll see more about that later on. She /does/ love him more than anything, but you're right. If they can't get over this, then...

I felt so bad for Ava in this chapter-especially after she went to Ian's house and her turned her away. Ian seems like he is-or at least was-a really nice guy, but I could be wrong. Although I sort of don't blame him for acting the way he did. It's clear Ava broke his heart.

Louis must be getting super confused about what's going on! The way Ava just kicks him out at the end...wow. She still clearly has some very deep issues. And Matt is just so perfect! I love him.

I like Louis a lot now, actually. He was really sweet in this chapter ❤ though I am a little suspicious about him bringing her a bottle of wine, of all things. Haha.
But he was really cute -I loved when he moved her hair out of her face and kissed her, and kept holding her, and taking care of her -just so, so cute.
I sympathize with Ava but I also think she's kind of dumb...but that's probably because she's a bit of an emotional wreck right now, poor thing.
So far my theories about Ian are mostly that eventually what other people thought started to matter and maybe something to do with her being a witch. Like the negative comments and thoughts from people like his parents and friends and associates were wearing on their relationship. And perhaps he didn't react well when she told him she was a witch? I wonder if she ever told him...what happens if you tell a muggle girlfriend or boyfriend about magic and then break up? Do they obliviate the muggle? Or just let them keep that knowledge anyway and then obliviate them if they start to make trouble?
Anyway I also feel bad for Louis because he clearly cares about her and probably/possibly wants to date her, but she's calling him 'Ian' while they hook up. That's really sad... It also probably complicates their relationship because how will he know if she ever likes him back genuinely or is just hung up on Ian?

She did act rather dumb in this chapter, but she's not normally a dumb person. She makes stupid decisions, but it's nothing to do with her intelligence level. Most of it actually can be ascribed to her emotional distress right now, as you thought.
Interesting thoughts... but I can't reveal anything. :P But I /will/ say that there is a lot more about Ian in the next chapter, so you'll be learning whether or not you're correct on those points.
Louis :( It is rather unfortunate for him that he's so much like her ex. The whole bit about calling him Ian was definitely sad for him, but I think I feel even worse for Ava.

Hahaha, this is hilarious! I'm loving it! Ava is an original character, I'm quite interested into why she's living as a Muggle now (let's just ignore that she uses her wand to threaten boys, but that's legit). And she slept with him again? Really? She should stay sober for a while ;).

I really like this story, and I find Ava to be a very loveable although clearly she has some real problems with alcohol;) as does Louis. The way you put so much detail in makes the story really thought provoking and addictive. You have quite a flair with humour, the banter between Louis and Ava is really hilarious! I hope you continue with this, as I really think that this is a story to look out for. Also there are already some secrets that I'm dying to see uncovered like the elusive Ian and why they are working in a diner and not the wizarding world. Love this!

Hm... who's Ian...? perhaps the reason she left the wizarding world? why is Louis working at a muggle diner? and the diner reminds me of Johnny rockets. this is like a replay of matt. and I don't know if this is true for your story,but I read somewhere that veelas don't really get effected by alcohol. that would be interesting.
