Ah at last the final chapter eh? This chapter really took me by surprise. I mean with Scorpius and Albus. I'm glad they made a truce and that they aren't going to be friends. Your writing is so good. Good luck with your NaNoWriMo. I also can't wait to see what you come up with Albus's fifth year. I've also even wondered how long Laurentis will be a Minister and if she will be caught or not. Or maybe she'll still an the Minister of Magic in Albus's sixth year maybe? I can't wait to see all the changes she puts. But hopely no one gets fired from the Ministry or Hogwarts. Hmm I wonder if she has anything to say about Hermione and Ron and wondered what Scorpius thought about Laurentis now that he and Albus made a truce. Keep up the good work.

Author's Response: Indeed! I could never write Albus and Scorpius as friends because they've disliked each other so much for so long. There's too much history. But they're both learning that there's more to focus on than their dislike and it's better to just go their separate ways. But that being said, there's no guarantee that there won't be any interactions and altercations in the next one. Al & Co are right to be a bit suspicious of Scorpius, no matter what he does.

I finished my NaNoWriMo story the other day so I'm moving on to other FFs now. As for Laurentis, you'll find out more about her in the next story. Not sure if she'll still be around in the 6th one as of yet. Scorpius doesn't really care one way or another about Laurentis; he just likes that his dad has a more powerful position in the Ministry than Harry does. Thanks for reading and reviewing! :)

Hi, I am a huge fan of the Harry Potter series. I really like this series. It is really interesting. I am officially addicted to it. Please continue writing this series. I cannot wait for Albus Potter's 5th year at Hogwarts. So thank you so much for this series. It gives me something to read while I am in between books. Thank you so much again and please continue.

Author's Response: I'm so glad you liked it! I will be continuing but I'm not sure when the 5th one will be up. Just keep checking every so often. Thanks for reading and reviewing! :)

I love this series and I was wondering if you are going to write his 5th, 6th and 7th years. I'm just wondering because you stories are really good.
I have written some stories with some other authors. Check out Arianna1018 and me (HGPotter).

Author's Response: I'm so glad you like my series! I am going to write stories for his 5-7 years, but I haven't started yet so it'll be a while before the 5th one is up. That's awesome that you've written stories! I'll check them out if I have time. Thanks for reading and reviewing! :)

Great book! I really enjoyed reading this. Any idea when the sequel will be out? I've read your entire Albus series and loved it so much I'm reading it again. This also inspired me to write a James II story (with my own plot and characters, of course). The first story I read on this site was Albus & the Secrets within and now I'm hooked on this site. Thanks again for the awesome series! I hope you get the fifth one up soon.

Author's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'm not sure when the 5th one will be out since I haven't started writing it yet. That's awesome that you wrote a James II story. He's quite an interesting character, too. I'm so glad my story got you hooked on the site! This is the best FF site, after all. Thanks for reading and reviewing! :)

10th November 2012:
Hi, me again! Don't know if you remember, but I reviewed Ch. 24 a little while back.
So, another adventure comes to an end...and it makes me wonder what's in store next!
I loved the closing of the story and the mystery of how Hogwarts will change, it's quite ominous.
Also, like in the original series, the stories get darker and more mysterious. No longer is the central plot the four boys trying to discover the secrets of the Marauder's Map, but a dark government conspiracy involving of lies, deception, and escaped convicts. In fact, I would say your story is not exactly a book(don't take that the wrong way), but a series of brilliant ideas.
And looking toward the future of the series, I see romance, most likely. There is an extremely great set-up for some love within the group.
Also, just one question: maybe I'm missing something obvious, but why is the story called The Lost Legacy?
That's everything for now! Really, really can't wait for part 5! :)

Author's Response: Hi! I'm glad you liked the ending of this one so much. I was definitely going for an ominous, mysterious ending. They will continue to get darker as the boys get older since I wanted to mimic the HP series.

There actually won't be much romance in this. I don't like to focus on romance since there's so much of it out there. There will be dates here and there, starting with the next one, but no huge romancy plot lines. And I'm not planning on pairing any of my main characters with other main characters.

The story is called the Lost Legacy because the Potters and Weasleys have a sort of legacy in the Ministry and the wizarding world (what with Harry defeating Voldemort and all), but since Percy lost and Harry got demoted, the legacy is lost. For now. ;) Thanks for reading and reviewing! :)

Review #33, by Luke Truce

6th November 2012:
So, another story... and I really liked. It was very different to the other three Albus stories and seemed to mature a bit from the previous volumes.

The ending seemed to come to a rather abrupt halt and I found it quite unbelievable when you announced last week that this would be the last chapter. It really did sneak up on me, I guess that's because the tension this year was really different to those of years prior.

I think that as the series matures one of the things that I want to see is less "text book" baddies, like those that are completely evil... I think I want to see Laurentis truly believe that what she is doing is right or... even Albus question his Dad... I dunno... I think that's one of the things that could be worked towards, bringing in a few more shades of grey... and maybe not a happy or clean cut ending (I don't know... maybe Laurentis could do all this evil stuff... but support werewolf reform... making her a bit more three dimensional)

I really liked that this year's tension, perhaps similar to the previous years wasn't based around a big baddy (until the end... on a side note I question the need for Umbridge showing up) but more the perspective that Al gives us on what's going on in the wizarding world and how he's reacting to it.

It was great to get a bit more of a look at Amanda's character, I remember commenting on her lack of development at the end of the third book, so it was really great to see her passion and the impact of her being the Prime Minister's niece in this novel, it made a nice touch to have someone who seemed a forgotten part of the ensemble cast rise to prominence.

The Chamber of Secrets scene and indeed Scorpius' conflicted loyalties were one of the greatest parts of the book and I thought they mirrored the journey that Draco took in HBP and I really hope that you continue showing us that journey and maybe the grudging truce become a grudging alliance in future books... I know that there are Rose/Scorpius shippers out there... and I'd wonder if this could be a development of your series.

I can sense a series arc developing and that perhaps Laurentis' changes at Hogwarts will mirror the themes that Jo explored in her 5th book, so... I do hope it's not like a carbon copy.

So yes, thank you for another work well done, the presentation of the political world absolutely fascinated me and the intriguing plot developments did leave me hanging (I think I'd like to see more of Linda... it felt like she was kind of shoved to the side) and yeah... you've presented us with a story that really seems natural, you read some stories where it's Albus Potter saving the universe from Voldemort Mrk II, but you give us a story that's very real.

Good luck with nanowrimo (I'm doing it too :D) and all your other ideas, whatever you present to us here and by other means, I will seek out and read.

Author's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed it! It was very different from the other three, which is exactly what I was going for. I wanted the characters to be more focused on what's going on in the world, rather than on what's going on in Hogwarts. The tension was quite different and there wasn't as big of a end of the year battle as there often is.

I want to use different types of villains, too, which is why I had the villains captured at the end of this and sent to Azkaban, with the dementors. They won't be escaping and won't be playing a huge role in the story anymore. Laurentis does believe what she's doing is right and I'll try to portray that more in the next one, although it's difficult since the story isn't from her point of view. Laurentis doesn't disapprove of werewolf reform, per-se (she did let Matt's dad keep his job, after all), but she doesn't believe it's worth the effort. Werewolf reform will be brought up again, though, so who knows what will happen. As far as Al questioning his dad, that's an intriguing idea!

I was a bit worried about the tension in this because of the lack of a big villain until the end. Quite a few people didn't like this one because of the fact that it was so different and so political, but I'm very glad you enjoyed it. Umbridge wasn't so much needed as just old villains in general were needed. I picked Umbridge because she's a familiar character, rather than creating new prisoners just to show up and then get captured again. Hopefully that made sense.

I really enjoyed developing Amanda's character in this. She didn't have a lot of "screen time" in the previous novels, so it was great to give her more personality and characterization. She's still the quiet girl she was in the first one, but she has ideas and beliefs and values that will cause her to become a stronger character as the series goes on.

Scorpius's journey in this one did mirror Draco's journey in HBP and I'm planning on developing him more as the series goes on, even though he called a truce with Albus. I will never, ever, ever pair Scorpius with Rose, though. It just wouldn't work with how I've characterized them and I'm not a huge fan of that ship to begin with. There is only one series of novels on HPFF that are Rose/Scorpius that I read and enjoy.

Laurentis's changes at Hogwarts won't be like Umbridge's at Hogwarts. There will be no Inquisitor and no Inquisitorial Squad. Kendrick will remain in control of the school. Don't worry!

I'm really glad you liked the political aspects! As I mentioned, a lot of people didn't like that. But I did, so I put it in. Originally I planned on Linda playing a larger role in this story, but I changed the plot a few chapters in and it just didn't work. I hope to put her in the 5th one more.

I hope you're doing well with Nano! I finished my novel a few days ago, so it's back to the FF world for me. Thanks so much for the long and detailed review! :)

*stares at the idea of Trelawney liking people predicting her own death* I shouldn't be surprised. It seems completely in character for her.

Oh wow, Amanda might go into politics. I hope she does. That'd be interesting.

That's tough on Percy. I feel kind of sorry for him now.

I'm not really surprised about the change in Scorpius. He really got caught up in more than he intended there and it was bound to teach him something. I like the fact that the feud is ending. It gives your characters a depth and makes them seem like real, growing people.

I'm looking forward to seeing how Hogwarts changes under Laurentis and when she's found out, whenever you get back to it.

Author's Response: I loved putting that bit in there about Trelawney! She's just such a funny character and I love giving her little cameos.

Amanda will go into politics, actually. I revealed that in Beyond the Shadow. She's going to be an ambassador.

Percy will survive, as he always does. I haven't quite decided what he'll do yet, but he'll survive.

Scorpius got caught up in everything way more than he originally planned and wanted. He was in way over his head. All he wanted was to help his dad. I'm glad you like that they called a truce. Thanks for reading and reviewing! :)

I love the Amy spin offs and the depth to which you have gone to in this world and so many other things. I really hope story 5 will be here soon, though I won't complain if you post another Amy story first!

Author's Response: Aww, well, I'm glad you are enjoying Between Here and Somewhere. My Amy spin-offs are my favorites of all my stories. Haha, I do have a story that's nearly ready to post that relates to my Amy stories! Thanks for reading and reviewing! :)

what exactly is NaNoWriMo??
And i fully expect that Laurentis will be sacked before Albus's graduation from Hogwarts once her secret about the "escaped prisoners" gets out when it eventually will. i wonder if Johnson was involved in the escaped convict plot, we know draco was, but i don't really believe that Johnson knew where the escaped prisoners were, he honestly was kept in the dark and the tip was a real tip to him.
also i believe that harry would have captured the convicts with the same tip if he was head auror when he got it.
also i am kind of disappointed that the politics class is dissolved, unless it will only be a class when there is an election year?

Author's Response: NaNoWriMo is National Novel Writing Month. You challenge yourself to write a 50,000 word novel in a month and it is super fun and rewarding! If you google it you'll find the site for it.

Draco was definitely involved in the plot, but Johnson wasn't. As for Laurentis getting sacked...you'll just have to wait and see what happens! Harry would've captured the convicts, too, but Laurentis wants everyone to believe he wouldn't have managed it as quickly.

The politics class only takes place during an election year. It was a special class. Thanks for reading and reviewing! :)

Aw...what a happy ending. :)

I wonder what the reforms that Laurentis is doing to Hogwarts will be. I hope nobody gets fired!

I never really expected Malfoy to come in and call a truce. Even Draco Malfoy in the sixth book never really called a truce with Harry.

It's so unfair that Laurentis got away with this. I hope she gets caught in the next book.

Thank you for such a wonderful next generation series so far!

Author's Response: Happy...for now. You never know what will happen in the next one.

Scorpius is different than Draco, but Al & Co are right to be a bit suspicious of Scorpius. Laurentis won't get away with it forever, but yes, for now she has. Thanks for reading and reviewing! :)

Review #40, by Pheonix Potioneer Italy's Chimeras

2nd November 2012:
I was looking back on this story before you release the last chapter today... and I realized we never found out who this crazy guy who warned Harry Potter was!

I really think its funny that they brought chimeras to the match... I totally understand why the people would be outraged by this though. I read the description for chimeras in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, they are extremely dangerous creatures.

Keep up the good work! After this story is done, PLEASE start working on the fifth book.

I think you're the only person who had done more than Albus's first year. (I think)

I am also writing my first book in my own Albus Potter series. If you have time, please give it a look (I only have three chapters up so far), but if you don't have time I'll totally understand.

Keep writing! :)

Author's Response: The crazy guy was just a crazy guy. He actually had more to do with my original plot for this, but then I switched plots and he was no longer very relevant. But maybe he'll reappear in a future story.

Chimeras are incredibly dangerous, so it made sense that people were outraged. But I thought it would be really funny.

I'm glad you liked the story so much! I've seen other stories where Al is older than 1st year. That's awesome that you're working on your own Albus series, though. I'll take a look if I have time. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing! :)

Review #42, by MargaretLane Draco Malfoy's Plan

27th October 2012:
WHAT? It wouldn't be as big a crime to hex Albus because Harry is no longer a Ministry official? I mean, I can see that it wouldn't create as big a fuss, but he's still Harry Potter's son and anyway, hexing a child should be a big enough deal.

And that's actually a pretty good plan-abducting the Prime Minister's niece.

*laughs at the part about Umbridge looking like a mental patient*

I really wonder what Draco's plot is.

Wow, I'd forgotten how good a dueller Scorpius was. I should have known there was some reason why you'd made that so clear in this series, but I assumed it was just to give Albus a rival who could actually rival him, if you know what I mean.

You've one mistake. When they are are talking about why Scorpius helped Albus and his friends, you've said "not would his father want him to be involved," when I assume you mean "nor".

I like the fact that there are sort of three "sides" here. You have Harry and the protagonists, then Draco and Laurentis and then Jarrett, Quinton et al. And Draco and Laurentis were sort of on the same side as Jarrett et al at the beginning, because they wanted to break the prisoners out, but now they are sort of on the same side as Harry and Albus because they want them recaptured.

Draco should have known better than to get Felix involved though. He would hardly want his uncle and cousin recaptured.

Best of luck with Nano.

Author's Response: Hexing a child should be a big enough deal, and it is. But Willinson is twisted and he thinks that it won't be as big of a deal. He got captured anyway and didn't get his demands met, so he was proven wrong. It would've been a good plan, but no one was willing to go along with it.

Draco's plan was what Harry explained to Albus. The theory on how the prisoners were let loose and then recaptured at just the right time. Scorpius is quite a good dueler. He and Albus are definitely the best and next year they'll get to duel each other at tournaments.

Thanks for pointing out the typo! I really liked doing the three sides thing, too. I thought it gave a bit more depth. I'm glad you liked it! It's never good when Felix is involved. Thanks for reading and reviewing! :)

Hi! Well, I am back again, and I have a lot of chapters to catch up on. Over 10! I hope poor matt is doing good with his 'furry little problem' there, and the debate is going up and down. I still have to read thenext debate.
Which is weird because the real debates for the 2012-2016 president debate is just finished 2 days ago. what a coicidence!

And I just want to say thanks for the great stories. You Albus Potter series was the first story I ever read on HPFF and that is what got me to go on HPFF in the first place. You inspired me to become a author, and when I am older, I think I will try to write a novel and publish it. I was always wondering about next-gen, and after reading yours, I have finally made up my mind and wrote my own! (Albus Potter: The Journey Begins. And I know, sucky title, but hey, I was new at the time.) So thanks AGAIN!

Now this is the longest review I have ever made, but you deserved it.

Author's Response: Matt is doing well. As well as he can be. It did turn out to be a weird coincidence that I posted so much of this during the election in the USA! I didn't plan that at all since I started this one years ago.

I'm glad you enjoy my stories so much and I'm very glad that they're what got you involved with HPFF. Aww! That means so much. I hope you're able to publish one day. I want to, too.
