Wow, just wow. I can honestly say I fell in love with this novel. It's breathtaking. I've read hundreds of books and hundreds of fanfics and a total of 2 have made me cry and feel the strongest emotions for characters. Those 2 novels are Finding Faith and The Art Of Breathing. I think you're an amazing writers. I think you're going to write a novel and have it published and change peoples lives with it. I'm beyond impressed.

I'm so sad this story is over but very glad to have read it! It was hilariously witty, ridiculously absurd, incredibly tender and, well, very sad and inspirational all at the same time. I can't decide whether I was more moved by Mary's voice and her death or by knowing (and the foreshadowing) that most of the other characters would suffer and/or die young as well. I think you did an amazing job working within the canon and writing a story that contributed, not detracted, from my hp love and personal conceptions of the characters. So... thanks for this story :) !!!

Hey!! I was wondering if you could help me . . . I've re-re-re-re-re-re-re-reread this fanfiction many, many times. I seem to remember some chapter when Mary and Sirius are lying in the woods or outside or something, and he keeps saying "Mary I-" and then not finishing it, and then they just start snogging, and she's left thinking WAIT, WHAT?!?!?! Anyway, I can't seem to find that chapter, or I missed it or something. Do you remember which one it was?

I would just like to say that this may be the best story I have ever read. Not only has it A. Made me laugh, B. Made me actually cry (kinda embarrassing), and C. Made me understand the main character; but it has a plot that drew me in from the first chapter. I have read a lot farther in the story (about half way through) but this chapter has stood out the most. When Mary was describing the love and wanting she desired in Charms class was hauntingly beautiful (haha if you watch How I Met Your Mother it's a quote from it). I had writers block but when I read that part it kind of inspired me. I used your writing (I hope that's ok!) when she was describing love and quoted it. I typed it on my type writer and I said all credit goes to you at the end! Anyway, I love your writing style and the long chapters! I really hope you continue to write!

I'm not entirely sure how to word this, probably because I don't review all that often. I guess the only way to stress how much I loved this story is to tell you that I read it twice! I have never before been compelled to re-read a story on this website. To top it all off, the second time I read it I actually teared up a little. Another first for me. Whenever the name Mary MacDonald pops up in another fic it feels really weird. The first time she was mentioned in another story I was reading I thought, "what the heck? Someone took that character from the Art of Breathing." Then I remembered her being mentioned in the Harry Potter books. Silly me. I still think that your Mary is the only valid one. Anyway, to sum it all up, I think you are incredibly talented.

Helen! How could you say that this is not the best chapter? I absolutely loved it. There was so much that went on and it just really grabbed me. I loved your idea for the prank, it was really original and i loved that she did it to sirius as well. Gah this story is just so amazing and wonderful and i just cant wait to see more sirius/mary! I really love that so much stuff happened between her and sirius in this chapter. First she comforts him and sits with him in silence because she realized that he needed someone to just be there. Then she almost lets it slip that she is dying and then he sort of saves her!

I felt bad for mary in this chapter. I cant imagine what it must be like to know that you are dying and thenn to have dreams that you know wont come true. If im honest i fret about it somedays too and im not dying, well not any more than anyone else, i wonder if ill ever find someone to love so i could really relate to that. I do hope though thzt her friend nate has turned her around and will finally give karen a chance and stop being as much woe is me though she does have a good reason to be that way. I look forward to seeing what will go on between her and sirius in the next chapter and how well she does at helping james get lily. Great job!

Author's Response: HI THEREE. My main problem with this story is that I have such a love hate relationship with it and I find it really hard to work out what I actually think. I'm half like... majourly proud of it and then the other half I get all frustrated. I'm so far removed from it, these days, that all I see are all these loose ends and grammar mistakes and pointless plot lines that added nothing.

But, everytime someone says they like a certain bit or a certain chapter its the same giddy internal dance, so thank thank you for such a lovely review!

Oh what an amazing chapter! Im really starting off my year right by getting back to one of my favorite stories and author! This chapter is just so swoon worthy and amazing and wonderful! I love mary in this chapter and how she is beginning to realize different things and becoming less of the bitter person she has been. I love that she stayed behind to comfort sirius even though just a few moments before he had scared her with the way he was acting. Im excited to see how she ends up pranking mrs quigly. Sorry this review is rather short but its hard to write in my nook. I loved this chapter and look forward to reading more!

Just finished reading this story, and though I dont normally rewiew very often I felt compelled to with this story. It completely amazes me that you were taking your GSCEs and then starting sixth form while writing this, as you write with such maturity and ease that I couldnt believe how young you are. The story is wondefully written and completely draws you in, and the characters developed well over the story. The last few chapters had me completely in tears, and you deserved all the awards you have recieved. You clearly have a talent for writing, and I will definitely be having a look at your other stories. Keep writing, and thank you for sharing your talent xxx

This is an amazing story. I've read it more than once yet get moved. Such a sad yet beautiful ending. Have you watched the movie Now is Good? It's based on the book Before I Die by Jenny Downham. I recommend it. It reminds me of this story.

I absolutely adore this fanfiction! It is one of the only fanfictions that I have EVER read that made me so emotional. I truly got close with your characters. I cried when they cried. I hurt when they hurt - the whole shebang. I just want you to know how much I loved it! Never give up with writing. I think there is a true talent there!
