I was going to ask you for a shiny new chapter earlier. YES IT IS HERE!

You promised big Rose action, and you certainly delivered. I think the Legilimency scene has to be one of the most ingenious things you've ever written (that I've read, at any rate). I absolutely love the metaphor, not least the significance of the chess game. The battle between the two minds was fascinating as well; I like how the conversation and chess game mirror the to-and-fro between the two of them. Some lovely insights into Rose's childhood too, poor thing not being able to have her chess games with Albus.

Scorp isn't helping himself, he's still in my bad books at the moment. Admittedly we don't KNOW what's going on in his head, but seeming angry with Rose about things isn't doing him any favours. Especially when we see that Rose thinks she DESERVES this, for how she's acted before. In a way it's nice that she recognises that she made mistakes - but then, so did he. And I wouldn't say either of them is more at fault than the other. So although I realise Scorp's actions right now are probably a) a front and b) slightly fuelled by the run-in with Matt, he's still being a bit of a douche.

I still love him though.

Selena sums the two of them up perfectly, as well, and I'm glad she told Rose not to blame herself for it. I, of course, don't agree that she's too good for him, but then I have a slightly more favourable opinion of Scorp than Selena does. They just need to talk, and talk MATURELY, which seems to be Scorpius' stumbling block right now. Bless him.

Mega points for Selena describing Matt as sweet, and adorable when he rambles. Waving my Matt Doyle flag here in the corner.

So much feels for Selena! Also, it must be a pretty sad thought that the last person she kissed is no longer Methuselah. I know I've had that thought before. Luckily in my instance men haven't DIED (touch wood) but it's the kind of thing that's got to me before, if x person, someone special, suddenly ISN'T the last person I've kissed. Course, with Selena it's that feeling of betrayal, with me it's just over-sentiment.

Also I like the depth you give Pacquet, with her family troubles. The poor woman. :(

Albus' plan is exciting me. Next chapter please! :)

Author's Response: This Legilimency stuff is easily my favourite bit of the whole story so far. It took time for me to put Rose properly in place, line up all the bottles of her issues, and this one knocked 'em down in one fell swoop. Or so it felt. Chirping on about my own stuff, but it came naturally, I was happy with the writing of it, and I'm glad it was enjoyed!

Scorpius, I would agree, is more in the wrong right now. Admittedly I know WHY, but to do what he did and then not talk to her would require a really, REALLY good reason. Rose has made her mistakes and after the Legilimency she's starting to come to terms with them, letting go of them after confronting them. We'll see if Scorpius can get over himself.

Selena is mostly being Mama Bear Best Friend. She does like Scorpius and her, "Rose can do better," comment is more about right now, about Rose not deserving how Scorp is treating her. If he doesn't get his act together, she might get firm. She does also have a soft spot for Matt; the two make an entertaining double-act, I've been finding, which is nice.

Girl's a bit of a mess. She's getting there, she's getting through her grief, but she is most certainly guilty about kissing Matt as a 'betrayal' of Methuselah. It's illogical and sentimental but it's there. Thankfully she has Rose to support her, and I'm happy their friendship is coming together.

Next chapter Soon. Albus' plan Soon. Thanks for reviewing!
