Hello Deets! I'm here for the Ninth of the Twelve Days of Reviewing Challenge. :)

I really liked reading this! I mean, normally AU or non-canon stuff really bothers me, but in this instance it really did help us to see a different side of Narcissa that we don't see in canon until the very end of the series.

I really enjoyed reading about her love here. I think, unlike the other Death Eaters and her master, she did retain the ability to love, and her strong love for her son shows us that. I'm not really sure whether she actually loved Lucius, because I think their marriage was arranged, but she truly loved Draco and was willing to do anything for him.

I think the part with the Boggart really helped to bring out that side of her here, how she saw her son's body, making that her worst fear, made her a really caring mother. It was interesting that Draco appeared to her before Lucius in the Boggart, which madde it more obvious that she's a caring mother but perhaps not as caring a wife.

I really liked one line, where she says she cast a strong Transfiguration spell 'only her kind could cast'. I think it was a really good way of showing us how prejudiced she was, as if everyone who didn't have her skill was beneath her, somehow. It was very realistic, and was a great way of showing us her natural arrogance.

All in all, I really enjoyed reading this oneshot, I think it really captured Narcissa's love for her son and desperation to keep him alive. Well done to you! :D

Author's Response: Hey Emily =) I don't know what that challenge is but it got you to review my story so yay xP Sorry for the late response!

I am pleased you liked this despite not being a fan of AU stuff.

It's good to know you liked reading the way I portrayed Narcissa here and her love for her son. She did grow to love Lucius later on in their marriage (at least that's what I believe) but of course being a mother her love for Draco is much greater.

I am glad you noticed that point of Draco's body in the boggart appearing before Lucius' as it was done to make my point of showing that her love for Draco was above anyone else's.

Yes, despite being a good mother and loving her son and all that, Narcissa is still a pureblood with prejudiced views and I am pleased that you caught on to the little details hinting that. She is surely arrogant and I wanted to show it and make it realistic, so I'm glad it worked.

Thank you for your review. I am happy you liked this!
