I love (and sometimes hate) how we already know how this story is going to turn out and the fates of wonderful characters like Scorpius. The hints of how painful it was for elderly Rose to talk about him sets up the intrigue of a future relationship between them, and that he'll probably meet some nasty fate. The line about Scorpius "being the war" was interesting, and made me more curious to find out about this war and how the common opinion of it may vary from Rose's version of the story.

Poor Albus. :( I hate thinking about Harry as being an abusive, deranged father, and how unfair it was for Albus and may have been responsible for turning him into the cold person in this story. While my beloved Harry from the HP books would never do such a thing, the Harry you've created here makes a really interesting villain, and I enjoy trying to figure out what his motivations were and why he would be so hard on Albus.

The Albus-Scorpius relationship is confusing yet has a lot of dimensions and depth. It's like they have this master-servant relationship, which Scorp plays up like it's a joke, yet I imagine isn't so far from the truth in Albus' opinion. And then there's how Scorpius sees Al's weak side and is there for him and takes care of him- I bet any of Voldy's followers would have died for that kind of privilege. I also enjoyed the little anecdote about Albus organizing the house elves, it demonstrated well how manipulative and sly he is.

I really, really loved the last scene, it was very meaningful and showed for the first time the social impacts of what Rose did. It's interesting how the Head kept her away from reading the news, and kept the reader as well as Rose in the dark. Diagon here reminds me of its transformation during Voldy's reign, and Rose's moment of confusion over it was really powerful, though the whole scene and moment was quite disturbing and horrible.

This was an amazing chapter, as always. I'm really enjoying re-visiting them and admiring your brilliant writing. Hope to get to the next chapter soon! :)

Author's Response: sdjkfhasglbnkas I'm a horrible person, not responding to this earlier. RL has been super busy. SORRY!

There's a definite sadness about it all, and when I write I try to keep readers aware of the fact that there's not necessarily going to be a happy-rainbows ending. Elderly Rose is a bit prickled talking about Scorpius. Makes you wonder what happened there.

An Albus sympathizer! There aren't many of you out there haha. Most people have already written him off as a psychopath. I never intended Harry to be a villain exactly but that's a very intriguing notion. hmmm..

Scorpius hasn't given up on his pal yet, though he is aware that their friendship is quite one-sided at this point. Even so, Albus tends to rely on Scorpius more than he lets on, and will ever admit to, I suspect.

I'm glad you liked the diagon alley scene. It was the favorite part of this chapter to write, mainly because I don't often get the chance to. But obviously, if people discovered there was a way to bring back the dead, they'd go nuts over it. it's just one of those "duh" things I felt would be better to show than tell.

Thanks so much for reading ...and then reading again and reviewing! You're an awesome person :) Again, so sorry I took so long with this reply.
