Hello again! I've just had a spot of spare time so I thought I'd quickly review!

Firstly, your writing is absolutely incredible. I love the details, the dialogue, James' thoughts and his emotions, the relationships he has with his family/friends/Carlotta, and I love the way you've written the Weasley (+ Potter) family and Maddy and you just have absolutely FANTASTIC characterisations and I commend you for it.

Okay, now that's out of the way. :p

I absolutely adored this chapter, I loved how we saw James' absolute determination and desire to not sit out on the bench. You can tell he's really worked for it and he doesn't want to be pushed to the side because he had to do all that extra redeeming because of his little break down previously and I LOVE that you've made him realise how wrong he was and he's working to accept it and understand he needs to work ten times harder for everything.

I also loved the interaction between Brie and James, it's so nice seeing him grow up and being so fond of Brie! I absolutely love their relationship, it's purely platonic which is something you don't often see in fanfiction!

Also, I love the Quidditch talk! You make it so realistic! I'm actually so nervous for England, I just want them to get through, haha! You're definitely good at writing sporting events!

Anyway, if it isn't obvious I absolutely love this story and I'm sorry I haven't been around that much to review (but I do read each chapter when I can) but everything will clear up soon so I'll have all the time in the world to review :)

Author's Response: For a start, it's really reassuring to know you like the Weasleys! They truly are an absolute NIGHTMARE to write because there are so many of them; it's hard to know how many to include, and to what extent, because James is hardly going to be bosum buddies with every single one of his family but I find it hard to imagine they aren't a close-knit bunch when it comes down to it ... so that's satisfying in itself. I think, despite the fact I was inspired to write this fic because of a plot idea, this is a very character-driven fic, and I like developing characters ANYWAY, so it's good to know I dun that job well! Thanks :)

James is definitely a lot wiser than he was when we first met him. Although he never really took his Quidditch career for granted; he always knew he had to work for that. But I think the James of old would have spontaneously combusted with the pressure of being in the World Cup squad, what with all the expectation and hope. He's definitely appreciating it all much more though!

The James/Brie friendship has taken a bit of a hammering lately. Poor Brie! James is certainly trying to make things up to her now, and when they're both in the right frame of mind their friendship is very strong - and massively important for James, because it's one of the few relationships he has which is both platonic and non-familial. And he needs that.

Bleurgh, the QUIDDITCH. It's good to know you're still enjoying reading these bits, because they're becoming harder and harder to write! I fear these next few chapters will be drip-fed to you guys, because writing them is feeling rather like wading through treacle. BUT I will persevere! Thanks for the review, it's lovely to know you're still reading and enjoying!
