Hello! :) I just wanted to stop by and let you know that I love your story. I've actually read through til the most recent chapter and was too involved to stop and take the time to review- I'm sorry! :( But I'll try and come back and leave reviews on these chapters when I can, since I can tell how hard you've worked and I'd love to give you the praise and feedback this masterpiece deserves!

This story is such an original premise. First, I love the idea of a post-magic, apocalyptic world of sorts. Something you do well is write tension, this story leaves me on edge the whole time and gives me a funny feeling of intrigue and sometimes disgust- which is a very, very good thing, playing with your readers' feelings!

It's very interesting how you begin the story at the end and slowly reveal details and explanations as it progresses and Rose trusts the narrator. The contrast with seeing her as a weary, wiser old woman and then the naive girl she is in latter chapters is very unique. It's also saddening in a way, since we know that disaster is going to strike and all those characters we meet will die.

The inclusion of the man interviewing Rose and hungering for her story is very strong, I think. It reminds me of the style of novels like Frankenstein, where someone is being told a story: the style but also the tone seems to emanate that and helps position the reader as a curious outsider.

The fragemented storytelling is so effective in giving the reader glimpses of the future and hints of the truth which made me so curious to read on and wonder what on earth is happening.

The scene where the Head tells Rose that nobody likes an orphan was so powerful, and ignited my curiosity about where the extensive Weasley family was and why they weren't there to support Rose. I love how you've taken all these typical narratives of the next gen and turned them around to create a fiercely unique story and unexpected characters. I think you've done a wonderful job, and I'll try and review the next chapter soon (and of course, be eagerly awaiting an update!) :)

Author's Response: Wow thank you, and I'm truly flattered you went back to review even though you've read all of it. I would be thrilled if you reviewed all my chapters (if you want to, of course).

Disgust :))) I'm glad the disgust and horror side of the story carries across well. I'm glad you noticed the contrast between the young and old Rose and yes, you're definitely right that there is an element of sadness to the story---everyone does die in the end. How we get there, of course, is the mystery ;)

I'm glad the fragmented storytelling is effective; oftentimes I wonder if I'm overdoing it (in the later chapters).

How very interesting...I've read Frankenstein but I never made the connection. Another reader told me it reminded me of 1984. Although they are accidental, I can see the similarities :)

Thanks for reviewing and I look forward to your future reviews!
