Review:MargaretLane says:
I love stories like that, one that give some insight into how the war effected people and how they dealt with and came to terms with what happened.

Really love the second paragraph of this chapter. The implication that George no longer feels whole makes a lot of sense and is pretty powerful imagery.

I also like the focus on Fred's death. It must have been so upsetting for all the Weasleys, and particularly George, but because it came right at the end of the last book, it got pretty much glossed over.

Hmm, not quite sure what's going on at the end. I'm intrigued as to what has Pomfrey so worked up.

I think you portray the family's grief really well here.

Author's Response: Yeah! These were so fun to come home to the other day! I'm just sorry I'm so slow responding to them for you.

You know, when I started this, I didn't set out to do that - the whole after the war thing. I just needed a story to bridge between the books and something else I was writing. But, then I realized once I'd started it I had to dive into it whole heartedly. So, here I am.

George not feeling whole again was probably the very second thought that ran through my head after I learned Fred died, the first being an anguished NO! I really, really, really hate that the twins were spilt up, and fixate on it way too much, but that's where that feeling comes from.

And that's my other pet peeve. I'll never forgive JKR that she killed off Fred, but the fact she did it and then practically forgot about him makes me really angry. I know they were in the middle of a war and didn't really have time for grieving, but I hate that the rest of the book passes with hardly one mention of him, or that he died, and the Weasleys after their one moment in the Great Hall don't even mention him! That bugs me.

Glad you liked the story, and the turn at the end. Thanks again so much for reading.
