Review:academica says:
Hello there, here from the Ravenclaw Review Battle :)

Hmm, interesting prologue! Poor Isabelle has already lost so much, and she's so young. It'll be interesting to see what it's like for her to grow up under a false identity and how much of her real life she'll actually remember. I like how you chose a family of minor characters rather than going with the old Malfoy's twin standby--it's refreshing.

I also liked how Isabelle's father sacrificed so much to protect her. So often, Death Eaters are characterized as being selfish and simple, and yet it must have taken a lot for him to kill his daughter's nanny and force his daughter out of his life for her own good, especially while dealing with the fresh grief of losing his wife in battle. I hope Isabelle gets to see him again as she gets older.

I liked your ending, too, and the way it sort of panned back to the general. It was a cool way to add some mystery, and it suggested that the events of the fateful night will remain hidden from almost everyone, including Isabelle herself.

Great start!

Author's Response: Thanks so much for reviewing!

I did try and do as much research into the death eaters as possible so I wasn't too predictable. Yes, I definitely think Malfoy would have been a poor choice. He is in the story too but not in the way that you'd probably imagine.

I think all of the death eaters have some humanity in them. Even though they may do terrible things they believe that what they're doing is necessary. They're not completely heartless and I did really want to show the relationship between Isabelle and her father because it's important.

Glad you liked the first chapter. Thanks again for your kind review!
