Review:MargaretLane says:
Yay, this chapter's up. Was checking ever since you said you'd posted it. I was looking forward to seeing what happened next.

Yikes, that must be dreadful, to realise that somebody you knew and possibly trusted, had done that to you.

Really like the way you show what Dominique is feeling when she confronts the man who bit her. You portray emotions well.

And I like the way Teddy and Dominique are so protective of each other. They both seem more concerned for the other than for themselves.

Hmm, I wonder if they can really guarantee that - that he won't go to Azkaban.

Really love that paragraph when she reacts to his comment about her joining their pack. It's very impressive and really conveys how she feels. There's something chilling about it and I imagine it would be chilling to have somebody basically suggest you're now a beast who belongs in a pack.

I also like the way that after dealing with thing so well for most of this chapter, that brings her to the point of breaking down again. It's very realistic.

Oh, I hadn't thought so far: how common is Wolfsbane in this version? It sounds like it was fairly rare in the books, but it was newly invented then, so it may well be more common now. I must flick back and see if it's been mentioned and I've forgotten.

And I like the fact that discrimination in things like employment is now illegal, but it doesn't mean people don't have prejudiced views, because that's true in so many areas of life. People don't change their views overnight, unfortunately.

I'm glad there's one person in her workplace who continues to treat her normally. Think she's badly in need of some normality.

I'm not surprised Dominique felt nervous. I'd be sick with nerves if I was confronting somebody who'd done something like that all on my own.

I do feel a certain amount of sympathy for Wilson Young, although what he did is absolutely heinous and in no way excusable. It sounds like he was pretty desperate and had probably been drinking so much he wasn't thinking of anything except how he could afford more drink. Still my sympathy is limited, because that isn't like stealing or something, which would be understandable. And he should have known just what he was condemning her to.

Love the way you portray Dominique in this chapter. She's obviously trying so hard to remain strong when deep down, she's still struggling to cope, understandable.

And I really like Julia. She comes across so naturally. I think she's just what Dominique needs right now.

Excellent chapter. I loved it.

Author's Response: Hey! Thank you so much for reading and reviewing. Your reviews are always so lovely, they make my day =) I am pleased you're enjoying the story.

I am glad you liked my portrayal of Dom's emotions, and Teddy & Dom's relationship.

Well, as to what they can guarantee and what they can not, it will only be shown in future chapters.

Yes, it is quite chilling and scary to think that you're a beast and you should live away from society in a pack. I tried my best to convey that in Dom's and Teddy's reactions and I am happy you liked it.

It's a relief to know that it was realistic, thanks.

Wolfsbane was mentioned but only briefly. More on that will be touched upon in the next chapter I think, or the one after =)

I have seen something like this in real life - a certain kind of discrimination is supposedly extinct in society but it still happens in people's minds and I am glad I could portray that here too and you liked it.

Dom definitely needs a good friend in times like these, yes.

Wilson Young is a complex character. I pity him and loathe him at the same time, so it's good to know that you could sympathise with him as well but to an extent only. He should have definitely thought more of what he was doing.

I am pleased you like my characterisation of Dominique and you can understand what she's going through. I am also glad that you liked Julia.

Thank you so much for such a thorough review. I'll be updating before the end of september =)
