Wow, you were right when you said you'd update quick! Unfortunately, the deadline for the story challenge I'm in is in a week, so I am doing that right now. So Albus has to be pushed to the side for me. *sniff sniff*
Okay, I thought when I saw the title, that Rose was going to get a howler for dueling Dora or something. But no, Blackburn has to be humiliated in front of the entire school, right when she was beginning to get better.
At least most of the students still like Blackburn. She seems like a great teacher, so I'm not surprised.
I wonder if the howler came from Felicity's mother, since you wrote, "Little Felicity King was watching the proceedings, looking almost frightened, of what Rose wasnít sure." I have a feeling Felicity will become much more important than she is right now.
I liked the Transfiguration class. Blackburn made the class pretty fun. Angie seems very funny!
The last paragraph intrigued me. I wonder what Blackburn will do about it. I would probably try to ignore it. That looks like what Blackburn is doing as well.
I'm rather scared for Blackburn. There are quite a few people angry at her simply for existing, and she has an entire society against her. What will they do to Blackburn?
Hmm, I think we need another Transfiguration class! Or some sort of interaction with Blackburn. She'll probably be mentioned every chapter of this story.
Author's Response: *grins* The queue was really short there - down to 20 hours or something, so this chapter went up fairly quickly. I haven't even started writing the next one, largely because I've firstly been debating whether to work on the next chapter of this or to attempt a story about 1916 for a challenge and also for a reason you mentioned at the end - that the next chapter wasn't intended to focus on Blackburn, but like you, I think we do need to see her again, because we kind of left her in limbo there.
I'm trying to be careful about focussing on her TOO much, because she's probably the character in this I most enjoy writing about, although I really like Albus too and there are other people who shouldn't be sidelined either.
*grins* I was hoping people would think that it was Rose was getting the Howler, especially since Hermione gave out to her for threatening to hex Dora at the start of the story. I sort of wanted what actually happened to come as a bit of a shock. Funny actually, since I hadn't planned for Rose to hex Dora in the last chapter. Like I said, neither that argument or the one with Rasmus was planned. The one with Rasmus actually threw me a little because I had to find a way to have them make up again. *laughs*
The school is a little split on how they feel about Blackburn. Most of Rose's friends like her and a lot of her students do, because, as well as being a good teacher, she's also pretty easy-going. As Rose said, somebody like McGonagall probably wouldn't have taken so kindly to Angie messing about. But there are a fair number of students like Dora and probably a good few Slytherins who are taking the same view as their parents. We will see more of them later.
I just remembered there was a mention of Angie being into soccer (or football, as she'd call it *grins*) in The Writing on the Wall, so that's where that part came from.
As regards what they'll do to Blackburn...hmm, you're actually sort of on to something there. It's not going to happen for a while, not until after Christmas, but yeah, haven't finished torturing her yet.
