Hi Rachel! I hope youíve managed to fall asleep by now, if not hereís some bedtime reading! Also, woo itís nearly hit 100 reviews. I would try and hold out for the 100th but I was too excited to review this chapter I couldnít!

Ah this chapter just dfe;rger Ė thatís how Iím feeling. All the tension between Snape and Dumbledore and then your authorís note. Iím just so excited to see whatís going to happen and find out the conclusion to Beth and Snape and read your next project or go and hunt down other stories on your author page. Gah itís just exciting!

When Snape was writing that letter to Dumbledore his nerves were tangible. I began to nervous about whether Dumbledore would come and see him or not and it was just horrible. Youíre right about getting into the thick of canon events. Most Marauder stories only cover their school years but I really love how youíve explored their years after in so much depth too as it just makes it so exciting!

I loved the name of the meeting place! I do take it as an omen unlike Snape because it seems to be that after that event everything goes downhill and both of those people who met at that meeting point end up dead within twenty years.

Snapeís thoughts about Lily were perfect! Though it pains me to see them not about Beth it ties in perfectly with canon and really shows how deeply Snape can love and how far he can go to protect that love. I liked your portrayal of it here because he loves her enough to protect Harry and James too he still begrudges them too, so it was a really interesting mixture of emotions.

I really liked Dumbledore in this chapter. We so rarely see him cold and angry but it fitted him really well in this scene. It matched what JK Rowling did but with your little spin on it made it fresh to read and also interesting to see it from another perspective. Another thing I really liked was how Dumbledore almost viewed him with contempt and it worked perfectly when he forced Snape to have Slughornís old job.

Gah and then the ending ♥ All these little pointers which suggest that the memories are coming back are making me so anxious to read on! It makes me wonder what they really are because if Dumbledore has the memories how can they come back through? Ah well, I guess all will be explained to me! Another amazing chapter, Rachel! ♥

Author's Response: Ah, that insane night when I didn't go to sleep until 6 in the morning... I did sleep by that point, and basically collapsed from sheer exhaustion! :D I wish I had read this that night, though; it no doubt would have cheered me up considerably. ♥

I LOVED this chapter -- I love all the chapters that are coming up, actually, because there's so much big stuff that happens in them. You know in a movie score, when the music is climaxing and building to a crescendo? That's sort of what the next 10 chapters are like! These two Sev chapters were particularly great because they're almost totally canonical interpretations, and those are actually some of my favorite chapters to write. To use a now-tired metaphor, they're like puzzles, fitting everything into place, and I'm very much into puzzles!

I would have to agree with you in that most Marauder stories don't extend beyond their time at Hogwarts, and that's one of the things I loved about this; it was like fresh material, imagining my own way things happened (with an obvious OC twist) and fitting them into known canon. I'm just SO EXCITED for everyone to read it! Although who knows what's coming to my page next... And yes -- the name of their meeting place absolutely should have been taken as an omen. Poor Severus. I'm glad you liked it, though!

Reverting Sev to a time when he loved Lily was so brutally painful in this book. And after all the time I'd spent moving him away from her, too! That was neat, though, because it was more of an analysis of what actually happened, rather than how Beth affected him... if that makes any sense.

Ooh, Dumbles. If there is any person I could pick to NOT make angry, it would probably be a tie between Dumbledore and Voldemort, because a certain Hogwarts headmaster is /terrifying/ when he's mad. Ah, but I can't reveal anything about the memories to you just yet! I promise you'll get fulfilled in due course... in about nine weeks' time. :D

Thank you for reviewing, Kiana! Number 99 is just as important to me as all the rest. ♥ I love hearing from you!
