Oooh Luna and Rolf is interesting as Luna is a really hard character to get right and Rolf is just one of the unknowns so there's not a lot we have to work on already.

I think what you showed about Luna here was her receptiveness to observation. She observed a lot as a teenager at Hogwarts, more than many people gave her credit for so I love the fact that you've given her a placement in Dragon Observation as it seems very fitting to both her character and her temperament.

One thing which I found a little odd here was the idea that Charlie and Luna were so formal with one another. I didn't like that at all as they had met before of course at Bill and Fleur's wedding and they would have been around one another for many of the funerals after the war so I feel that they would have had some sort of existing relationship even though it could be completely platonic so the formalities at the beginning didn't sit completely right with me.

I loved the descriptions of the dragons! They are one of the most fantastic creatures in this universe and they should be written about much more than they are so I do love how this was completely centred on dragons. I almost forgot I was reading about a placement. I was simply enthrawled at many of the concepts here. One thing I would have liked you to maybe emphasise a little more would have been the size f the place as when you compared it to London Zoo I felt the place was a little downsized and downscaled to the magnitude it would have been to hold so many dragons.

Also the Luna and Rolf meeting was very cute and I loved the line break and the change of scene between Charlie introducing him and then Luna actually meeting him.

Well done here!

Author's Response: Hey there, thanks for stopping by!

Yeah, I think Luna did spend a lot of other time watching others. It must have been necessary, in part, because she was a little socially awkward and maybe needed help monitoring cues to figure out how to respond. Obviously she didn't always choose the popular pull, but that's why we love her :)

Well, I thought of it in terms of their relative positions. Luna is a student and much younger than Charlie, who is her new boss. She's in an unfamiliar place where she doesn't quite know the rules, and she never came across as being particularly rude in canon. So to me, it makes sense that she'd err on the side of caution and be very professional here. I think first day jitters could also play a role. Even if she and Charlie met here and there at events, they probably wouldn't know each other but so well at this point, or so I think.

It's great that you enjoyed reading about the dragons! I was hoping they'd intrigue readers. I didn't really mean that the whole place was the size of the London Zoo; obviously you would need bigger cages and more open ground for creatures like dragons to live there. I didn't really say this, but I also think that there would be other dragon facilities in a few other countries, but of course none of them are quite as famous as Charlie's facility. With that reference, I was really thinking about the way the monkey house at zoos I have visited is set up, with the open center and large glass cages lining the room's sides.

Thanks for your kind review!
