Shelby! I figured that since it looks like I'm never going to get my review thread cleared, I needed to come review your next chapter! I loved it as always, and I'm very excited to see you continue.

Oh my goodness, Tobias. I loved him! He's not very pleasant, is he? But I don't get the sense that he's mean-spirited, just that he has high standards and doesn't do well with incompetence. Not unlike his future son. But Eileen is capable and smart, so I can see him liking her. I'm excited to see that happen!

Lorraine is precious, and I think she'll be a good friend to Eileen. I love her anxiety about dealing with Muggles; she's a great contrast to Eileen, who is always so calm. And by the way, the line about the tree and the dandelion was just lovely; it seemed like the perfect way to describe them, and it made me smile :)

Eileen continues to be enchanting. She has this wonderful sweetness about her, and I would love to see some of that rub off on Tobias in future chapters :) She makes such a good narrator, and I'm coming to really enjoy reading from her point of view.

One tiny nitpick for you: In the very first paragraph, when you call Eileen "the seamstress," I think it depersonalizes her. By this point we know her; I'd just go ahead and call her Eileen. I don't think it would take away from the ethereal tone of the paragraph, and it will bring us closer to Eileen in that moment :)

One of the parts that sticks out most for me is Eileen's living space. It seems so colorful and inviting, and it reminds me that even though Eileen is so mature for her age, she is still a young woman. I think a person's home can say a lot about who they are, and I love that you used her living room to show us a playful side of her (and not to mention the fact that she's a bookworm :D).

Another wonderful chapter! I look forward to the next one :)

Author's Response: Maggie, darling! You're such an absolute gem! (I apologize for the response delay). I'm just so over the moon that you decided to stop in and review.

Yes, someone else who loves Tobias! It's hard to say that, isn't it? I feel like the fandom has typecast the poor man. I want to at least give him a chance before everything leads down that road.

Lorraine is adorable. She's an important character and I'm really glad I ended up including her in the story. Everyone is just loving her and that makes me very happy! Oh, and that line! One of my favorites.

I'm happy that you're continuing to like Eileen. I don't even know what to say about her, I just love her and love writing her.

Thank you for pointing that out! AW has also mentioned that and so I'm going to be doing some editing soon. Thank you!

You're one of the only people to notice her living space - thank you! I'm like you, Maggie. I believe a person's home is important. It's where you shed your skin that protects you from the outside world and where you become you. The part of her identity as a bookworm is also important - keep it in mind! :D

Thank you so much for the amazing review! I appreciate it so much and am super excited to see what you think of future chapters!

Shelby ♥
