Oh this is so exciting so far. I clicked on it randomly because I love mythology and Egypt and Rose and Scorpius, so I figured what's better than all of those things wrapped up together?

Your descriptions of the setting are wonderful - from the heat of the desert, to the tourists with cameras, to the people in the marketplace who are so determined to bargain with you and get you to buy their stuff, haha.

Rose and Scorpius's friendship feels very natural and I like the way you've characterised both of them.

I also like the Egyptian family you've introduced, and even though it's a large family several of the personalities are already really distinct, like the uncle, and Dalila. (Oh and I like that her last name means "Egyptian", haha!)

Cool anecdote about the city of Acanthus, I've never heard of it before. I love Egyptian mythology though and I'm really excited to see where you take this story. I love it so far!

Author's Response: Yay for random clicks! I love all those things too, and that's the beauty of next gen because I could throw them all together and make it work :D

I'm really glad that you liked the descriptions! I used to not describe anything at all, so writing this story has been a big step for me, so hearing you call them wonderful made me insanely happy!

I like writing them as friends, as that's what it seems like my head canon so it's great to hear you like it!

The Egyptian family is fun, though only Dalila and Rashidi will feature later on. If you like meanings of names check out those two as it should hopefully tie in with their character :P

I had never heard about it before either, I was just researching a town I could use for the story. I'm so glad that you love it, it means so much to me! Thank you for this truly wonderful review ♥
