Hello! :)

This was such a beautiful chapter, and I can't believe the first year is over already! It's funny, somehow in this story you've done such a good job of telling many important details and events but without having it drag on. I feel that the story has flowed so naturally and logically, and this was the perfect conclusion to the first year: a return and a moving on of sorts.

I loved the scene with Hagrid, he gets forgotten about quite often in fan fiction I find. I liked how Harry felt a little guilty for not visiting Hagrid more, and hopefully he'll remedy that in the coming months. I also think you captured his character and speech very well! :) It's sad to think of Hermione and Ginny leaving Hogwarts, even though Harry and Ron of course weren't there. It's still the end of an era in a way.

The interaction with the reporter was very funny as well! It makes sense that they would become celebrities, not just war heroes, and I think you captured Ron and Harry's reluctance just right. Also, the portraits chattering among themselves was a great touch, and such an integral and lovely part of Hogwarts! :)

I loved Ginny's sassy little comment about Draco's mark, and I'm glad the animosity is still there between Harry and his friends and the Malfoys. I just can't imagine them ever becoming more than slightly civil, and the rivalry and hatred was always an entertaining part of the books. It fit perfectly that the Malfoys left right after the speeches, as well.

I liked the song, also! It's very tragic, and fitting for the occasion. It was nice how the Weasleys compared it to their own loss, which many people in the hall were probably doing and being united in their grief which still remains.

Kingsley's speech was so poignant! Gah!

Yay, Victoire's here! :) I loved the description of Bill's Patronus, how it reminded them of Fleur: that was so sweet, and fitting with how Patronuses are reflections of love and loved ones. The bantering about how long giving birth takes was so entertaining as well, and very in character. I love how Ron was outraged at being there for so long, and Charlie's snarky comment about his Mum giving birth so many times. Then of course Hermione is the voice of reason! So perfect.

This was such a wonderful chapter, and one of my favourites so far! Amazing job my dear! :)

Author's Response: Hi! :D

I'm so glad that you enjoyed this chapter! I'm so glad that you think that the pace and flow of the story was good. After all, I feel like I have had to narrow it down in many ways, because I won't be able to write a story of 19 years in their lives if each year is 40 chapter... I'm glad that it still works, this way :)

I like Hagrid too! I wouldn't have been able to write a whole chapter at Hogwarts without including him, and I'm glad you thought he was well written! Also, yes, it is quite sad to think that they're leaving Hogwarts for good. I just graduated the other week, so I can totally relate to what they're going through ;)

I'm also very happy that you liked the reporter and her interference. Yes, I'm sure that they would be celebrities too, now, and that media would be VERY interested in them, both in their professional and their private lives. And I'm glad that you liked the portraits' little chitchatting. You're such a great reader, because you always notice those small things that I really enjoy putting into the chapters :)

I don't think that Malfoy will ever become their best friend, either. Ginny is especially angry because of her Weasley temper, and I'm glad you liked her comment. The Malfoys really didn't want to have to talk to anyone...

I'm glad you liked the song. It was supposed to be written in a way that it could apply to everyone who died, but also to a single person, like Fred. And yes, I'm sure that the Weasleys weren't alone in that comparing.

I was exited to bring Victoire into the story! :) And yes, Bill's patronus was supposed to be a reflection of Fleur in a way. I'm glad you liked that part. Haha, and that scene in the waiting room was really fun to write - I'm glad you found it enjoyable and in character :D

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a detailed review, for all your lovely comments and compliments! I hope you know how happy it makes me! :)
