Review:MargaretLane says:
I've just realised I'm probably supposed to wonder what Professor Young is doing in Knockturn Alley. I'll keep it in mind, but I suspect, as with Hagrid's appearance there, it's a red herring.

I think aconite is probably a bigger danger than running into Professor Young.

My immediate thought when they mentioned the potion and St. Mungo's was vampires. That there might be a potion like wolfsbane that helps vampires, but that they might need to take it all the time.

But that wouldn't really be anything wrong. It'd just be the wizarding world being prejudiced and refusing to help vampires. I just thought of it because of Balladanis and his hatred of vampires. I suspect these people are more likely to be villains.

Unless one is Professor Young. Hmm, he could well be one of the undead. *laughs*

Actually, it's more likely to be that super-Polyjuice Potion you mentioned a couple of books ago. That requires hair, lasts a month and I thought at the time it was going to be important.

I'm now going to be suspicious the new Potions teacher is somebody under Polyjuice Potion.

When Albus is wondering about what the guy wants Polyjuice Potion for, you've given "no one" a small "n" when it should be a capital.

And somebody COULD want it for innocent reasons, but I doubt they do here. If they did, they could probably have it brewed officially anyway. I mean, if they were an Auror on official business or something, there's surely be somebody in the Department with the ability to brew it.

Sounds like my second guess, about Polyjuice Potion, was correct anyway.

*laughs at Kaden saying they haven't solved a mystery in a year and a bit* Somehow that makes me think of the Enid Blyton mysteries I used to read as a kid. I could imagine the Famous Five or the Five Find-Outers saying something like that.

Uh, oh. I hope Matt's OK and there isn't something more to this.

Author's Response: Red herring it might be, but you never know! And I'm not going to reveal it anytime soon. But, 15 year old boys being 15 year old boys, they're going to assume Young is up to no good.

Aconite was definitely the bigger danger, at least for Matt. There is a potion that helps vampires, in that it allows them to be outside in the daylight (at least, there is in my stories).

Oo, Professor Young as a vampire! There's a theory. None of the boys suspect that at the moment, though.

But the potion is polyjuice potion. As for what it's being used for, that might get revealed later on. Or not. I love all the theories in your reviews, but it's so hard not to spoil!

If an Auror needed polyjuice, they'd definitely get it through the proper channels. Anyone buying it in Knockturn Alley probably isn't using it for anything good. The boys are right about that.

I've never heard of those mysteries before. But Kaden is right that they haven't solved anything recently.

Matt is ok for now. Nothing more than an allergic reaction. Thanks for reading and reviewing! :)
