I can't believe I didn't notice this was up until now. I am so pleased it is. Your series is definitely one of my favourite next generation series, possibly even my favourite.

And the title and the summary sound really awesome.

I've been trying to remember who the Potions master is in this series. I'm assuming Slughorn has retired? I took a look at the chapter where classes begin in your 1st year story but couldn't find any reference to Potions, just Charms, Defence Against the Dark Arts and Herbology. I guess I'll find out soon enough. Might take a look through your previous stories and see if I can find out.

OK, *goes to read*

*cheers for Albus being a prefect*

I think it's shoo-in, rather than shoe-in.

*laughs* I'm guessing N.E.W.T.S. are comparable to A-levels and according to British and Irish universities, an A-level is worth a Leaving Cert. subject and a half, so yeah, I'd say they'd be a lot of work. Working on that assumption, 4 N.E.W.T.S. would be equivalent to 6 Leaving Cert. subjects. We do 7, but close enough and that's pretty much no free time at all, at least the second year. So yeah, James will be lucky!

I like your explanation of why James I became Head Boy. That makes a lot of sense.

I'm really looking forward to finding out what Albus has overheard over the summer.

Great opening chapter.

Author's Response: Aw, it wasn't up for long before you found it! I'm so happy to hear this is your favorite next gen series. That makes me so happy!

There is a new potions master for this novel. I had Slughorn retire at the end of the 4th one, although that one got posted a while ago so you may have forgotten. Slughorn was certainly getting up there in age, so I figured it was time.

Thanks for pointing out the typo! I'll fix it.

N.E.W.T.s are comparable to A-levels, which I understand so much better now that I know N.E.W.T.s are the same thing. James definitely has his work cut out for him, despite the fact that he thinks it'll be an easy year.

I vaguely remember J.K.R. explaining in an interview why James became Head Boy and that was the reason. Thanks for reading and reviewing! :)
