Hello there :)

This is a stunning piece of writing. It's...goodness, wow. You've gone into so much depth and heartbreaking detail to portray Flitwick's state post-Battle, and his characterisation is spot-on. He comes off as this unconditionally benovelent and incredibly compassionate character, who genuinely loves and cares for his students, and who is pained to see so many lose their lives at such a tender age. Really, you've written him with such care and precision that it's astounding. I love those moments when he recalls the things he taught his students - the arc of water shooting from little Grace's wand is such a beautiful, beautiful image - it is indeed very graceful, and it is a very fitting concluding image to this chapter.

Your writing is so vivid and lyrical; there were so many beautiful lines that I can't quite pick out which is my favourite, but I'd have to say, those final sentences of the chapter were absolutely breathtaking and incredibly sad. Can I also say just how much I love the idea of Flitwick visiting Snape's grave? It's such a relief to hear that Snape's heroic deeds are sort of recognised - and wow, Flitwick pouring Felix Felicis over his grave was completely unexpected, but was such a poignant gesture. If I read correctly, it would appear that Flitwick found the liquid luck in Snape's own office. It's an almost bitter moment then, that Snape could possibly have survived if he'd had a bit more luck.

Anyway. This was a fantastic piece. Really well-written; I'm so glad to finally be able to read some of your work ^.^ I've been seeing you a lot on the forums recently. Amazing writing, really.

Author's Response: Hi there!! Thanks for checking out my story!! I absolutely loved your one-shot, and yes, I've been getting into the HPFF and forums community recently. :)

It's so wonderful to read such a thoughtful and kind review. Writing this story was funny: it started as a Filch-centered, slightly snarky piece but somehow Flitwick took over and out came these sad, upsetting ideas and images. I think he's a great character and can't believe I never thought of exploring him before, so your confirmation that he was well portrayed is amazing to hear.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments about the writing itself, really it makes me very happy! I feel as if Flitwick would be feeling a little guilty for not believing the best in Snape, and pouring the Felix was a fitting way to tribute him. I feel as if Snape is the type who would have turned away from luck, not believing that he deserved it.

Thank you so much (I just keep saying that, haha)! :) I really loved this review.
