This was such a good chapter...I enjoyed every bit of it. Though I kept waiting for something bad to happen and it didn't! :-) But it will... :-( Anyway...

I loved that bit where Beth thinks of taking a mental photograph to capture the moment. It's something I do too and just one of the many ways you make your characters so real to me.

I also loved sweet baby Harry in this chapter, though it is so hard thinking about what will happen soon to rock his little world.

Speaking of...whenever you mention Peter, I keep overanalyzing his words and behavior to see how he's dealing with being a traitor. For example, how dare he pretend to still be part of Beth's friend circle, to suggest helping her!

And speaking of that...I never guessed the boys would try to help her. I thought their "intervention" would be less (?) supportive or something. I'm pleased that I underestimated the Marauders' loyalty, not to mention their appetite for going against the rules.

And you let us keep up the HOPE in this chapter!

Author's Response: I'm happy that you liked it! This was the one chapter of the four in this story that hasn't ended on a somewhat depressing note -- which is needed, I feel. We all need a reprieve from the dark now and again. The material in this story is a bit gloomier than in the previous two books, but I hope you'll enjoy it just the same!

(I think of taking mental photographs, too; oddly enough, I've got a couple "stored away" from moments in my life!)

One would probably do well to keep an eye on Peter, especially since it's absolutely certain at this point that he has betrayed. Time will tell how that's going to play out, but being suspicious certainly wouldn't hurt anyone! ;)

The boys are very loyal to Beth, and I'm excited for you to see just how key of a role they play in their plan to get Severus's memories back. I can't say too much, of course, for plot reasons, but I hope that you're going to be as proud of them as I am!
