It was really nice to see something more positive happening in Beth’s life at the moment, even if it’s just James’ party, and it would only be for one night, it would at least cheer her up, and she definitely needs it, after the few weeks she’s been through. Then to get landed with filing, it doesn’t sound much fun! I liked the mention of Hopkirk it made me smile :)

I really liked the brief cameo of Mad-Eye as well. Even though he’s been mean to Beth, it was nice to see him there, as it showed how much the Potters must have meant to him, if he was willing to take time out of protecting people from dark wizards to go to their party!

Aw baby Harry! He’s just so adorable, and just like I imagined! It was really sweet to see how Lily was playing with him, as it made you remember that there were happier times for them, and it shouldn’t just be all doom and gloom. Then the way he grabbed Beth’s hair, I can just imagine him doing it, with a cheeky little grin on his face!

I really liked how you’ve tied canon events into this, with James feeling cooped up, and the presence of a traitor, it just makes the events more realistic, and as if they could have actually happened like that. I thought it was really interesting how you sort of made Beth wonder whether they thought she was the traitor. You can see how it was so easier for Peter to get away, as there was just so much confusion, he could disguise anything.

Then the ending, it was so sweet for Remus to offer to do that, and you could tell that they were all really good friends, if they willing to risk so much, to help Beth. It really made me want to know what Peter’s thoughts were, as it would be curious to see how he viewed the whole Beth and Snape debacle. Then the ending with Sirius was lovely, and it made my heart warm to see that they could still have happier times.

Another awesome chapter Rachel, and I really can’t wait to read the next. I guess the good thing about reading this one a day later, means that the next one comes around quicker :D

Author's Response: I liked writing this more lighthearted chapter! It's a nice reprieve from the somewhat sad chapters that come before it, though I think the gloom will somewhat oppress the cheer, in general. That's how things tended to work in this story. :( But don't give up yet!

Writing baby Harry has been one of my favorite things about this story so far. ♥ He is darn adorable, and I'm glad you like him here, too! (The hair-pulling bit does come from experience -- babies pull hair HARD.)

I'm working extremely hard to ground this story as much into canon as possible, except where Beth directly events, and even though you know that I still massively appreciate that you take the time to comment on it. You'll hear more about the traitor later in the story, of course (more towards the end), but you're on the right track; really, anybody could be suspected. Beth does have small impact there, so watch for that, too!

I'm so, so proud of the boys in this story (with the notable exception of Peter, obviously). Again, you'll see why a bit later, but they're really proving their loyalty with her. Even Peter, to a degree, wants to help her out; I do see him as being very conflicted, even after joining the Death Eaters and making his Unbreakable Vow.

Thank you so much for reviewing faithfully, Kiana! I do suppose you only had to wait six days for chapter 5. :3 It'll be up tomorrow morning, as always, and I'm excited to hear your thoughts on it! ♥
