Review:Adad says:
Poor Beth. This is definately a depressing time for her and she doesn't seem to have many people to really trust or turn to. She doesn't even know that Sirius is the one that ratted her out or that Petter is tied to the Death Eaters (DE). I wonder if Severus has mentioned to Albus that he has seen Petter around DE headquarters, and if not...why not? Anyway...I'm really enjoying your story and can't wait for the next installment.

Author's Response: This story does take a rather depressing turn at this point... but it will all be for the better, I promise! Things look very dark right now, but there is a tiny pinprick of light at the end of the proverbial tunnel, never fear.

Beth's not knowing about Sirius's betrayal is quite a key factor later in the story, so hang onto that. ;)

The bit about Severus and Peter is very tricky, and I don't have a completely firm answer for you in that respect. We know in canon that Severus never told Dumbledore about Peter... and yet J.K. Rowling never explains why. As far as this story goes, and explaining things to the best of my ability, I think Severus would have continually felt loyal to both sides of the war, and would have kept things from both sides -- keeping his allegiances mostly separate, as it were, except where Lily is concerned (as he believes now, without his memories, that he's doing it all for Lily). Just as he didn't tell the Death Eaters everyone who as at the Order meetings, I don't think he would have told Dumbledore everyone who was at the DE headquarters. And that's the best explanation I've got for you, I'm afraid!

I'm so, so happy to hear you're still enjoying the story. That really does mean so much to me! :) Thank you for reviewing!! ♥
