It’s so odd only having one chapter to review, and not being able to find out what happens next straight away! Oh well:D

Is it a theme of starting each book, that Beth and Snape haven’t spoken for ages? I can understand why they wouldn’t have spoken this time around, as it would be too painful for Beth, and it would kind of ruin the purpose of Snape having his memories wiped!

Ah and Snape was there, but he was being mean! I still can’t get over the fact that there won’t be any Sneth for a while. They better get back together by the end of this book; otherwise I will not be happy!

There was just so much happening in under 4000 words I couldn’t believe, and can I just your description of the cold was very accurate, as I’m very familiar to how horrible the English weather can be!

Aw Sirius I do love you, please don’t give him a canon ending, or Snape for that matter, or James and Lily. You could just re-write the whole series, as Snape having his memories wiped has given me enough trauma, I don’t think I could deal with all their deaths!

Anyways a great first chapter, and I can’t wait to read the second!

Author's Response: I am totally responding to your reviews out of order, but I like having all reviews for a work in progress answered before I post the next chapter. So it's for a reason! :P I am very intimidated by your other reviews, too -- they are so long and detailed and full of wonderful things, I don't know how I'm ever going to answer them!

It would seem that is a theme of the start of the books. ;) Although you're right -- DEFINITELY wouldn't have worked here! The Snape we're seeing now is essentially canon Snape, with a few minor changes that are going to become (hopefully) more evident as the book progresses. I won't say a word about the ending! ;)

I'm glad I got the cold right! I am decidedly American, but I am also an American who detests cold weather, so I know how to describe it well as a result. :P

I could rewrite the whole series, couldn't I? Ah, but it's like I said -- no spoilers! You'll learn all the answers in due time, I promise you.
