Hi. I'm wondering how the portraits gained awareness when they were not done while the subjects were alive. In another fanfic portraits of James and Lily gained awareness because objects were found that they had invested part of their soul in and then very complicated magic was used to extract those fragments and they were infused into their new likenesses. Well done sofar! Thank you. These post-DH, canon-based, novel lengths are my favorites and I am glad this one was not abandoned.

Author's Response: As for the portraits, I'm not quite sure what you're asking... sorry. But I can try my best to answer what I can extract from it :P
In my mind, I believe that anybody can be made into a portrait as long as you have a memory of them or something like that. McGonagall was the one making the portraits, and I believe that she knew everyone that has become, or will become, a portrait.
I don't know if JK has released any information on portraits, at least I haven't found any, so this is what it is in my mind.
And thank you so much! I'm working on rewriting the third chapter right now! Hopefully I get it out soon! :)
