Can I just say I love the outbursts of French here and there; it seems to add more authenticity to the story, given that it’s set in France. It’s also fun to practise my French, and see whether I can understand it without using Google Translate ;) On a note on the French Xavier uses vous when speaking to Camille, I would have thought considering how close they are he would have used tu, or perhaps he’s being polite. Ignore this note if you want, I’m just trying to pretend I know some French!

I really found it fascinating how you’ve mixed in parts of history which are so familiar to me, with magic. I think it’s just so wonderful and clever, and it’s almost as if history is being shown in a new light and it makes you want to go and find out more about this era, and see whether there could have been any magic in it.

Even though you have such a large cast list, they seem to be coming into their own, and their beginning to show their unique traits, and you begin to look forward to reading more about certain ones.

I really loved the flashback, and I think it was beautifully done. It didn’t have too much fluff, which was great, and it seemed really realistic and believable. It was also nice to have some more backstory to Camille and Xavier and made you want to find out how they got together in the first place.

I thought this was an amazing chapter, and you just write so beautifully it really is a pleasure to read, and I’m already looking forward to the next chapter! Kiana :)

The 'vous' thing, you're completely right -- it's the polite form usually, but here it would be used as a teasingly polite way of adressing her. I'm not sure this makes sense. It does in my head, but that's not a valid excuse.
