Hi Dan! It seems to be a curse, really, that I read your stories without ever reviewing them...

Anyway. The first thing that strikes me when reading this story is the amount of personal experience you've included in it -- I think? This was so detailed and accurate, much more precise than all the pregnancy/giving birth scenes found around here, and wonderful to read.

The relationship between all the characters is spot on. You've got Ginny's independance, Harry's helplessness at how a real family functions, and the general 'Oh God, what do we do now?' state of mind, that, again, tends to be overlooked because for some reason all fanfiction female characters have a maternal instinct (I'm guilty of this, by the way).

So. I really loved every bit of this story, and Ginny's line at the end had me on the floor.

Great piece of writing again!

Author's Response: That's a pretty nasty curse. Good thing you found the counter-curse. ;)

There is a lot of personal experience in this one. Going to the hospital and having a child (children) for the first time is most assuredly one of the most surreal things you will ever experience. In Harry and Ginny's case, the attention they're drawing makes it even more so. I'm glad you enjoyed the reality (surreality) of the moment. To be fair, I doubt that most people who write these scenes on HPFF have ever lived them.

I'm glad you liked the way I wrote the characters. I tried really hard to stick with the way I thought of them from the books. And the, "Oh, god, what do we do now?" moment is one that I remember well.

I'm happy that you got a charge out of Ginny's closing line and that you enjoyed the story. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!
