I'm sad this story is almost over. :-( But what a well written chapter! I felt as though I was living through it with Rose...all the tension, etc. And OMG... the cliffhanger ending with the knife!

I didn't necessarily suspect Regina, but it certainly fits. I am patting myself on the back for guessing that Krum hadn't drugged himself.

Since I'm such a Krum/Rose fan (Krose? Virose?), I was glad to see that Rose doesn't doubt him and be swayed by Regina's picture of him. Even to being okay with dying for him...

My one question is around the role of Tommy in Krum's career ending injury. Is Regina/Benny exaggerating this, because they are wack jobs? And especially Krum's role in "crucifying" Tommy? Wouldn't Rose, who after all must be the expert on Krum by now, have heard more about these rumors? Just curious...once again I loved the chapter and the whole standoff with Regina. :-)

Author's Response: Thank you, Ardeith! I'm glad you didn't suspect Regina, but that it also felt like it wasn't totally out of the blue. I wanted it to be a surprise but not a total stunner.

As for what happened with Tommy, I did actually end up going back and editing one of the chapters where Rose is doing research and added in a hint about rumors regarding Krum's accident. I realized while writing this chapter the same thing you did -- that Rose would have heard at least something about all this. Though, I'm also basing a bit of it on the idea that 25 years on, a lot of the details would have been lost/forgotten since no charges were ever filed, and that this lives on as a bigger event for Regina and Benny than for the public at large. Hopefully that isn't too much of a cheat on my part.
