Hmm Matt and Lily aye? I really like the idea but I have to admit it will take some getting used to. Dont take this the wrong way but I kinda always thought Matt and Albus were you know lol. In all the Albus stories his never once thought of a girl despite the raging hormones and even Harry thought of girls! Him and Matt moved in together after school and have lived together for a very long time. And none are mentioned to have a partner/interest in Beyond the Shadow. I have to admit I was sort of hoping they'd realise they liked each other in their 7th year but just kinda keep it private. ; )
But if Matt cant have Albus Im happy for him to have Lily. Its good to read from a different character and Im really looking forward to how the Matt and Lily thing develops.

Author's Response: Yes! I've imagined them together since I first started writing my Albus series and I'm finally going to write it. You're not the first to think that Albus and Matt would wind up together (although the last time it was due to poor word choice on my part, and not using enough Britishisms in terms of the word "roommate" as opposed to "flatmate").

Albus has thought of girls in my Albus novels. Remember Linda from the 3rd one? Romance hasn't, nor will it ever be, the focus in my Albus series because I've modeled that after the HP books and that was never the focus in them. Harry never mentioned girls until Goblet of Fire. I'll introduce a bit of romance in the 5th one, but it definitely won't be the center.

As for Albus and Matt living together, they just live together to save money and because they're friends. And Albus is off on missions half the time, anyway, so it'd be pointless for him to have his own place.

Albus's love life isn't mentioned in Beyond the Shadow because he doesn't play a large role in Amy's life and that was from Amy's point of view. Matt got together with Kenzie's sister in the wedding chapter, but other than that, he hasn't gone on many dates because of his lycanthropy. Kind of like Remus.
