Wow, I'm the first to review!

This was such a sweet chapter in so many ways. I love your Marauders (plus Beth, of course) and love how you show the relationships and affection between them. It's just so believable and real. I just wanted to hug Sirius here -- I love bouncy!Sirius. :-) And he was trying so hard to comfort Beth, even when he doesn't really see the appeal of Sev.

Of course, that makes it all so heartbreaking when you think what happens to James, Lily, Sirius and Harry in about a year.

And you're evil again trying to end on a hopeful note ("Maybe this is a sign that everything would eventually be all right again.")... Guess it's nice to give Beth some little happiness right now...

Author's Response: You are indeed the first to review! :) I'm so pleased you liked this chapter, especially coming after the sort of horrific one before it (though I'm not going to lie -- chapter 32 is one of my favorite of this entire plot so far!). There is such a strong friendship between all of them, and it's never more important than at this time in their lives, when the war is only getting worse, and James and Lily are about to be in serious jeopardy. Sirius welcomes your hugs, I assure you! ITR is his most hug-demanding book, because man, does he manage to mess a few things up. :P But then he's also rather endearing, if I do say so myself, and those times merit hugs, too.

Wow. That was a ramble! Ending on a hopeful note was probably a wee bit diabolical, yes. I promise, though -- I've got things in store! We certainly haven't seen the last of Severus, and you know, a bit of hope isn't a bad thing. Even a LOT of hope isn't a bad thing. Only time will tell what's in store!
