I have to say, I'm with GW on this one. Is it really a review if all I do is squeee in your general direction?

So I always make little notes as I'm reading; here's my list of all the things I loved about this chapter:

(1) Harry saying 'Watch your back.' I have no idea why this jumped out, but I love it. I love thinking about him and Ron as friends after all these years. (2) Rose saying her mother is "worth ten regular people," because frankly, that's just true in most situations. (3) All the little details about the security around the prison. You're always really good at making the law enforcement elements in the story feel very realistic. (4) The lines "I never tell you how to do your job," Mum said, despite years of her telling Dad how to do his job. AND "Rose and I are going to prison." Both made me laugh. But your stories always make me smile. My sister is an actress and she always says doing good comedy is way harder than doing good drama. I think that's true in writing too. I'm not a funny writer. You, my dear, have the skills!

I could list about a dozen other things, like how Rocke's got a really great voice in this chapter. Very authentic to his lot in life. Or like how the line "She may not be speaking to me, but she never throws me out of bed" pretty much sums up EXACTLY how I see Hermione and Ron's relationship, and why I ship them so much. But I shan't mention any of that because then I'd just be hitting embarrassing levels of squee-ness.

Author's Response: I am basking in the squees! Thank you :)

I'm glad you noticed Harry's note there! I love the idea of those two as adults, being BFFs for 40 something years by this point, and brothers-in-law too. Just that whole thing is adorable to me. And Rose knows Hermione counts for way more than just one person ;) cause Hermione kicks butt.

I tried to make the law enforcement in America wizardly but still American. It's a bit different than Rose is used to back home. More Muggle integration in a lot of ways. I'm glad it turned out all right!

Hermione probably thinks she tells Ron what to do way less often than is really the case ;) Comedy is one of my favorite things to write, if not the favorite. Drama is fun too. Horror I have trouble with, and action isn't easy for me either. But comedy, yes. I can't help throwing it in even when I don't entirely mean to. I appreciate the compliment, thank you! And about Charles Rocke too, thanks, I'm glad you liked his character.

Ah I ship Ron and Hermione so much. I just love them. I may have had way too much fun letting Ron make a dirty remark at the end there ;) Thank you so much for the review and the squeeing!
