I'm glad there's more direct speech and interaction between the characters in this chapter as I feel that makes you know the characters better.

I think you've captured Helga Hufflepuff perfectly how she's so humble, caring, kind and hardworking. Just her little quirks of sensing the boy's unease and her being barefoot makes her so likeable. I always used to kinda look down on Hufflepuff's but seeing this makes me change my opinion as she actually cares.

I think Ravenclaw and Slytherin are also excellent as they have a cold and almost mysterious demanour which fits the houses. This unlike the comparitivly open houses of Gryffindor and Hufflepuff.

Ooh cliffhangeer it was a great way to end as I forget to put them in when I write, but they make the scene so much more dramatic it really increases the tension and captivates the audience.

One thing Helga said she was reading a small volume. The wording sounded a little strange as I was always imagined a volume being thick and big not small. Oh well it's just tiny flaw that I had to pick out as the rest of it was so good! Kiana

I'm glad Helga is changing your mind about Hufflepuffs. She has a lot of good qualities that aren't exactly glamorous, but I wanted to highlight those things that make Puffs awesome :) And I'm happy you liked the interactions between the characters so far.

Haha, this was the first cliffhanger I ever wrote! I'm glad you enjoyed it; I was kind of experimenting.

Wow, I never thought of it that way; a volume does sort of sound like it would be big. Thanks for pointing that out, because I probably never would have considered that.
