Now I get why he has done it. He doesn't trust Snape one iota, he's worried for Beth and he knows how much trouble she could get in for with holding information. He's just trying to be a good friend.

But.

SHE IS GOING TO BE SO MAD!

Why must you always make Sirius do things that are going to make Beth mad at him for? He just wants to do the right thing and it always ends up back firing for him in some shape or form.

AND WHAT WERE MCGONAGALL'S SUSPICIONS?! You see that woman is /very/ intuitive so I think it's perfect characterisation on your part for having her suspect something.

WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN?
I have so many questions!!

Where's Peter, what is he doing? What's Snape doing, is he holding up after sharing his secret? What is Dumbledore going to do? What is Beth going to say to Sirius?

AND NOW I JUST REALISED THAT SIRIUS GOES TO ASKABAN IN CANON AND THAT, THAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN!

Author's Response: Ah, Callie -- if there is one thing you should know by now, it's that this plot is filled to the brim with drama. ;) It's borderline soap-opera at some points, I daresay, although that might be pushing it a bit far. But you're very right about Sirius's motives: He hates Snape, and is about as far from trusting him as he can get. And knowing how Beth feels about him, he thinks he's doing good by keeping him from hurting her, when in reality he is doing the exact opposite.

I don't always mean to have Beth mad at Sirius! Though I suppose it does happen a lot, now you mention it. I never planned it that way, if it's any consolation! I know you've already read the next chapter, too, so you've probably figured out what McGonagall suspected, at this point. All your questions are going to be answered in time -- I promise!

We're going to pretend Sirius never goes to Azkaban, obviously. ♥ Feels abound! Thank you so much for taking the time to review these two chapters for me -- it seriously means so much!!
