Well this is a great beginning to your story! I like how Hugo chose his path for himself, rather than following the crowd of his family into Gryffindor. I also liked that Al told him the story before he was sorting. For Albus, it always seems like the choice is between slytherin and gryffindor but not ravenclaw and gryffindor :)

Yet for one of Hermione Weasley's children, I think it's the perfect place for him. I really enjoyed that aspect of this chapter.

I like your characterization of Hugo a lot; he seems to be pretty reasonable for an 11 year old, he has that innocence about him. One other thing I really enjoyed was the fact that George was his Godfather and that the two of them had a secret system. That was a really neat inclusion and kind of made Hugo unique compared to his slew of cousins.

I also liked that all of his cousins were fine with him getting into Ravenclaw. That could have been an opportunity to turn everyone against him, but they were all really supportive of him and the choice that he made. You would hope that family wouldn't care, but you never know with some stories.

Overall it was a really fabulous start to your story ! :)

My first review for this new story and it made me absolutely giddy!

This story had been running around my head for a while and I was waiting before I was more then 3/4 done with it before starting to post it (I have enough WIP as it is...) so these chapters have been waiting for a long time to be validated!!

Hugo is a very reasonable, quiet boy and on that overly thinks everything all the time. He is a lot like his mother in that sense, I think, so being a Ravenclaw was the right path for him.

Having George as a godfather seemed essential to me. Ron always admired his twin brothers so much that he couldn't miss out of making him godparent to one of his children.

Having the cousins all be on board with this Sorting was the only way to go for me. It's not like it's his fault and it's Ravenclaw, probably the only other house those proud Gryffindors value!! Also, I'm very close to my own cousins and the way their relationship will evolve in this story is based on how my family acts toward each other. It may not be perfect but it's closer to reality, I think.
