I'm loving all the fancy metaphors and dramatic commentary about living a lie :)
At the same time, I don't think pageants are quite as awful and fake as people make them out to be. I do think it's nice that they give scholarships and donate to charity, even if its just for being pretty. It gives more people opportunities, for whatever silly reason. Though I wouldn't really know, condsidering I've never been in one..
(And obviously it's different in Natasha'a case, as she doesn't actually want to be doing it.)

Author's Response: Ahh thank you! The metaphors definitely took time for me to come up with so I'm glad you like them :)

I actually am obsessed with beauty pageants, and I don't think they're evil at all. I just feel like Natasha is extra pessimistic about them because she's kind of doing them against her will, so her thought process will paint them in a more evil light. If she liked pageanting, it'd be a whole different story.
