Awww she wanted Sev. I still really don't know how I feel about their relationship. My feelings on Snape have simmered somewhat reading this story. You portray him as a very conflicted character and I think it has helped me see the more human side to him. His and Beth's relationship is probably something that has been acted out tenfold in real life wars. You can just imagine a Nazi soldier falling in love with a beautiful Jewish girl or a rich white boy falling in love with a poor african american. It's what makes their relationship so tangible, that stuff like that does happen in real life.

Yay Sirius is back! Loved his letter. I really do hope him and Beth can get back to their old ways because I miss their banter. And Beth needs him in her life because they have similar histories with their families and it's always helpful to have someone there who understands.

Author's Response: There is definitely a reason for the bracelet to keep cropping up. :D It appears again in Breaking Even, actually -- so don't let it slip too far from your memory!

I am doing virtual fist-punches at the air, hearing you say that you are (gasp!) coming to like Severus more through this story. Which was a large goal of mine, really -- turning opinions on him. I think he's one of the most complex and intriguing characters I've ever read, and JKR really shone, in writing him. And I honestly wouldn't be surprised to read a real-life story that didn't parallel theirs at least a little bit, though it's quite awesome to hear you say so, too!

Sirius! ♥ I love him -- as I know you do, too. He'll always be around, making sarcastic remarks right and left. And it's like I said in another response, and probably many other responses: He and Beth, they really are alike. They're not suited romantically, in my humble opinion, but they're so alike it would just be hypocritical if they didn't like each other.
