I KNEW THIS WAS GOING TO BE THE PROPHECY CHAPTER!!

As soon as Dumbledore entered with the 'mad woman' I knew!!

Oh it's so weird when fanfiction ties so neatly in with canon, especially when it's AU and there's new characters who interfere with the time line. As you know I'm not a person who sticks to canon and I'm not bothered about the fics I read sticking to canon either but YOU JUST FIT EVERYTHING TOGETHER LIKE ONE BIG PERFECT PUZZLE!!

*squishes*

Now . . . you have given me a theory. Do you think it possible that the only reason Dumbledore hired Trelawney was because of that prophecy and he knew straight away it could link to James and Lily? Dumbledore already knew that Voldy was trying to recruit them both and the thrice defied bit fits that. I don't think he hired her for her teaching abilities, I think he hired her just in case she could give him any more information.

The bit at the end was perfect. All Sev has wanted to do since the beginning was be somebody and now he thinks he can. It's like when opportunities like this one arise he completely forgets what it could mean for him and Beth.

Author's Response: I think your verbal reactions come through so strongly in these reviews that I can't help but laugh. ♥ I loved writing this chapter! And it was very nerve-wracking at the same time, because it's something that is EXTREMELY pivotal to the plot, and very firmly grounded in canon, too. Writing canon-esque chapters in this sense is always a bit of a challenge -- but a fun one, and that's what counts!

YOU ARE THE BEST, THOUGH. I'm seriously so flattered to hear that this works so well for you, canon-wise! I do my very best to stick to canon as closely as possible, which I'm sure you know, and it's so gratifying when someone takes the time to mention it. It might seem like a small thing, but it really just makes my entire week, so imagine what all your reviews did to me! You dear, dear girl.

Correct me if I'm wrong... but I do believe that Dumbledore DID hire Trelawney because of the prophecy. She certainly didn't show very many psychic abilities, apart from her few-and-far-between prophecies, and I'm sure Dumbledore would have wanted to keep her safe; he knew there was a good chance Voldemort would find out about the prophecy, of course. I'm sure Dumbledore had a lot of prophecy-driven motives in hiring Trelawney. :)

I'm beginning to sound like a broken record, aren't I? But I'll say it once more: Thank you, thank you, thank you for taking the time to leave me a string of such astounding reviews!
