So. Harry. I guessed from the first bit of dialogue, actually, that Ginny was dead - why the hell else would Harry have to introduce their own grandchildren? - but the reveal is still heartbreaking and wonderful. Aw. I don't usually have Harry feels, but now I have Harry feels.

I'm glad you've mentioned the physical effects a lifetime of Dark-wizard-hunting is going to have on someone. A lot of people forget to include that in their descriptions of older!Harry - not that I've seen a 64-year-old Harry in fic, mind you - and it's refreshing to see it here.

Your mention of Harry's kids, James with the Quidditch, Al with the law, Lily with the business, is all very believable and, in general, you've got a ton of realism. That's what I like about your writing in general, I think. It's always about things which could or would have happened (with the obvious exception of Slytherin Career Day).
Though I'd love to see you write a completely crazy AU, like sci-fi or something. It'd be fun.

Ginny's epitaph. I have to mention it because it was lovely. It's lovely, and it captures a lot about Ginny, but like all good epitaphs it doesn't capture all of her. Or something. Sleep deprivation. Sorry.

If you feel like going back and fixing this, you've still got a few Americanisms in there, like Harry saying "wind up", and JKR capitalises random Wizarding words which you don't.

Author's Response: Aww, give yourself some credit. You're better at reviewing than you think.

I hate to make anybody sad, but I'm always glad if this scene connects with a reader. It was tough and emotional to write, and Harry's conflict here is key to the entire story.

I doubt I have any crazy AU stories in me. It just isn't my main motivation to write. Honestly, if I had an idea like that, I'd probably try to turn it into a completely original work.

One of the main reasons I chose to write Harry and the others at this age is because I couldn't find anywhere that it had been done. So much has been written about these characters. It's awesome to think that maybe, just maybe, you've found an angle that other people haven't beaten to death.
