Review:CambAngst says:
So I have to admit, I was pretty sure that when Lexi saw Albus on the floor at the end of the last chapter that it was a feint. That there was going to be some other explanation aside from Keiron knocking him out. Yep, I got that one wrong. ;)

Poor guy. It was bad enough that he was having to go through the torment of waiting to tell his family. I like the entire conversation between Al and Harry. Al's thoughts on his family in general, actually, were very well done. Harry always struck me as the very calm, even-handed father who takes some time to get his thoughts together but understands his children very well. Ginny, I'm sure, is a far more emotional parent. And Louis, it seems, is a rather inconsiderate schmuck. But more on that part later.

I thought you kept everyone's emotional state very realistic in this. There was plenty of shock and disappointment and more than a little bit of anger to go around, but none of it was over the top. Nobody felt caricatured or hyperbolic. Kudos to you for that. Given that there's a strong element of humor running through this story, I'm sure the temptation is always there to play up somebody's reaction for the comedy value. You really gave this scene the gravity and seriousness that it deserved.

Theo seems like an all-around good dad. A very solid guy who takes some time to absorb what's just happened before he reacts. At some point I really hope you tell the story of how he and Daphne wound up together because they seem absolutely nothing alike. Then again, maybe that explains why he's being so understanding toward Al and Lexi.

The time that Al and Lexi spend together outside was one of those edge-of-the-seat sort of moments for me. I'm such a sucker for those magical moments where two characters suddenly accept their feelings for one another. It was pretty obvious that it wasn't going to happen this early in the story, but I can always dream. ;) They seemed so natural together. And I love that little bit of, I don't know, surprise maybe that Lexi seems to voice when Al tells her that she's his best friend. Is there something more there?

OK, back to Louis. The irony wasn't lost on me that Al basically got beaten up by Lexi's brother because he was waiting for Louis to show up so he could tell everybody at once. And then Louis takes one look at them and figures it out anyway. Like I said, schmuck.

Another lovely chapter. Your writing always sounds so deliberate and well thought out. I never find myself thinking, "what the heck was that all about???" when I read this story and believe me, I think that a lot when I read on HPFF. If I don't pace myself, I'm going to run out of story soon. But it's so good!

Author's Response: Haha. This scene was one of the first I ever planned, Kieron was always meant to knock Al out. :P

Thank you. I love writing Harry, partly because he's the only 'trio' character I really know how to write. That is exactly how I see them; Harry being calm and undestanding, Ginny being the more emotional. And Louis... Well, you've got that right. lol.

The story of Theo and Daphne will definitely be told, don't worry. I have that all planned, too. :)

Thank you. :D

Sam.
