Review:CambAngst says:
Hello, again!

You know, I like the way you write Al freaking out. If I let myself slide a little too far into his character while reading this, I could feel a hollow ache in the pit of my stomach. And I just had lunch, too. That's good writing!

You're turning a lot of typical gender stereotypes and HPFF caricatures on their ears so far, and I love it. Lexi as the calmer, more rational friend and Albus as the worry-wart who's prone to freak-outs is a great dynamic. And it seems that he has good reason to freak out.

Let's see, what else did I like? I like the way that you're still maintaining a certain emotional space between the two of them. I could see a big temptation here to just let them fall into one another's arms in a moment like this. Each is obviously going to need the other's support. But you allow them to at least make an effort to maintain their semblance of normality until they figure out what they're going to do. I also liked the small ways that Lexi's mindset changes after she finds out. In spite of the very legitimate reasons she has to be upset with Albus, she's somewhat grateful that he forced the issue with the test. It was a mature touch, and that can be uncommon in Next Gen fics.

Your writing was still splendid. In fact, from now on, if I don't comment on your writing, assume that it was splendid, OK? Because it always seems to be.

Looking forward to many more awkward, trying moments in Lexi and Albus's future. And hopefully some heart-warming moments of realization and happiness. Til next time!

Author's Response: Hello. (can't send my laptop to the shop yet, so I'm taking my chances so I can answer your lovely review) :)

Yay. I get really happy when people say that because, well, I like writing Al freaking out in general. :P Aww, thank you.

I'm glad you do. I just don't see Al as rational and calm, not when he's in the Weasley family. Or, at least, my version of the Weasley family. :P But Theo has taught his kids well... Mostly. ;)

And, yeah, he has a very good reason to freak out. :P

Emotional space is definitely what they need right now, or Albus will just become a mess. He got Alexa to take the test, now it's her turn to lead, in a sense. He'll gladly follow right now, because he has no idea what to do, and taking it one step at a time, having that little bit of support each day, is all he can manage. Poor boy. Yeah, Alexa's occasional rational moments and maturity come from her dad. Theo... Knows things. ;)

Awww. Really? Thank you! I hope you enjoy the next chapters. :)

Sam.
