Oh, Wow! I really didn't expect Slughorn would still be teaching! I assumed he would retire again right after the war, he really only came back for Harry. Nice Party!

Author's Response: I was actually going to have Slughorn retired, but I already had to replace McGonagall (who is now Headmistress) and obviously the Defence Against the Dark Arts teachers, who had multiple different things happen to them, so I sort of ran out of ideas for new teachers. And didn't want to be introducing too many new ones at once anyway. As he said, he'll retire at the end of this year, so I can have one new teacher in year 2 and two new teachers in year 1, rather than having three in one go. I'm planning for him to make a big speech about how he only intended to come back for one year, but then after the war, he was needed to help rebuild Hogwarts and he ended up staying on and on.

Glad you liked the party. This chapter drove me crazy actually, since a lot of it is sort of filler.
