Hey there. Thanks a bunch for joining my challenge. I feel very happy to have had the opportunity of reading Draco's afterthoughts on Snape's death.

First of all I'd like to congratulate you for how clear you managed to transpire Narcissa's love for Draco. It was one of the first things that stood out to me. Very well handled. How she stroked his cheek, how afraid she was and uncertain how to approach the subject of Snape's death, knowing that it would hurt Draco to know. We know how deeply she cared for him. So much that she was actually willing to defy Voldemort by lying that Harry was dead, when he was not just for the sake of seeing her son again.

I felt a bit confused while reading this one shot because there were moments when Draco's memory was all over the place and not very consistent. There were a few times when I wasn't sure about how he felt regarding Snape's death. Whether he was very sad or angry. Another thing that confused me is the tense switching. You started off the story in past tense and then switched to present tense, even if Draco was recalling memories. That disrupted the flow of the story a little. Maybe a beta would help you with this sort of problems. They are very useful!

Apart from some misspellings, another aspect I enjoyed reading about is the crumbling of Draco's "perfect family" facade. It was actually rewarding to see him realize that the Malfoy's weren't that special and outstanding as he was grown up to believe.

All in all a nice read. Thanks again for participating!

Author's Response: Hey,

Thanks for the review, I'm not a native speaker/writer so I realise the tense switching might be weird for others. My Draco just doesn't know how he feels, I think if you just find out a lot of things go through you and one way to feel about a death of a mentor seems impossible to me.

I'm glad you liked my entry though :)
