LOL, these opening chapters never disappoint! I love how Rose is always bumbling her way through apprehending criminals. Robina Spalding was hilarious, too--arrested over attacking someone while she was shopping. And the part about Rose having brought someone in once who was covered in bees. :D I could go on and on, but basically, this chapter made me laugh a lot. (It also made me hungry.)

I love the way you write Ron, and especially the attitude he takes towards Rose and Scorpius' relationship. It's so realistic and not at all filled with the over-the-top drama that some might be tempted to include.

Oh my goodness, the image of the little baby curled up under the blanket--SO CUTE! With ginger hair! And he sings along with Scorpius! Aahhh, too adorable for words. I have to admit that I was a bit surprised when I first read the name, but then I sat thinking about it for a couple minutes, and I really like it. It fits. :D

I can't wait to see what happens when they go to New York!

Author's Response: Rose is nothing if not mildly incompetent ;) Eventually she gets the bad guy, often through a series of accidents, but she does come out in the end! I love to throw in wacky stuff for her. Covered in bees I thought was funny, so I'm glad you did too. And I really want some pad thai right now ;)

Ron wishes Rose wasn't dating a Malfoy, but she is and it's not news (they've been together over ten years), so he's used to it by now. He can just sit back and try to be nice, now that he can't call Scorpius an unemployed layabout since his art is selling. ha.

Of course the baby has Weasley red hair! Weasley genes can overpower anything. Maybe not the Malfoy pointy chin, but hey, it could be worse. I gave him that name because Rose and Scorpius don't do anything the way everybody else does. So they're not going to pick a family name for either side, and they're certainly not the type to pick a regular every day sort of name. Egyptian pharaoh, though... ;)
