Hello again, you lovely girl, you! ♥
"Has Quidditch always been this exciting?"
^D'aww. Lily is adorable. Also, I love that you only wrote about two paragraphs of actual game action, even though you're way better at it than me. Hah!
Poor Beth! I love how you described her seeing her friends in a different light; when she described Sirius's features as 'arrogant,' I immediately thought, oh, obviously, because that's exactly how they look to Severus all the time. As awful as it is to say, I like that James told her secret. It reminds me that there are four Marauders who are brothers, and Beth is definitely in there, but she's not so entrenched that it's cliche. Does that make sense? No? Moving on.
One tiny thing - I think 'attention' is plural already. (I mean in the beginning, when Sirius is trying to get Beth and Lily to notice him looking for them.)
Oh, Lily does know. Ugh. AWKWARD. Poor Beth.
Beautifully awkward and fluffy Sneth to save the day! D'aww again. I love how happy that little bit of thanks from Snape and time with him made Beth, and I love how she confessed that she's never hated him. You captured that glorious moment that usually comes before a first kiss without actually spoiling it with a too-soon kiss. Congrats on mastering the art of fluff, my dear :)
Lovely and wonderful. I'll be back, hopefully soon!
Author's Response: Full disclosure -- I really, really hate writing Quidditch. :D Which you might not really expect, because I wrote a whole novella about Rose as a Quidditch commentator, but it so is on my top ten least favorite things to write about. So what I'm trying to say is that I'm glad you liked it here, however scarce it was! :P
I actually didn't know, upon starting this story, that making a fifth Marauder (and a girl, to boot!) was as big of a cliche as it apparently is, so I'm glad Beth's kind of breaking away from that. :) And I'd like to think -- not trying to sound arrogant, of course, because I'm always paranoid about that -- that a lot of that is because she can step away from, say, Sirius, and not just have that sort of do-or-die loyalty he's got. And I'm under a bit of stress and am completely not making sense anymore, so we'll stop this here. :3
Awkward Sneth is the best (and only) Sneth. ♥ Could you imagine Snape and Beth kissing at this point in the story?! That image, like... my mind doesn't even process it. :D Their relationship is admittedly pretty slow in this book, simply because I do think it would have taken him some time to move on from Lily, and I can't see him rushing into romance by any means.
Your reviews never fail to brighten my day. ♥ Thank you so much for all the ones you've been leaving on this story lately! I'm so happy you're enjoying it so much!
