So there I was, awake at 6am, scrolling through the James/Lily pairing tag and then I see this! I instantly read it and this is just so cute! I didn't even realise you were the author until I re-read it this night. :| *bad Izzy*

I wouldn't call this pointless at all. I think it's a wonderful one-shot that didn't really glorify parenting. There's just so many one-shots out there that's about James and Lily thinking about how wonderful Harry was and all, and yes that is true, but what about the dark stuff? The things you never really realise until you're a parent yourself...like a baby crying endlessly. :P

I don't know why, but my favourite part would probably be the couch sacrificial bit. It's a really good insight on what they probably did during those times in order to be able to be awake and be there for Harry the moment he cries. It's just so sad that they never got to see him grow. :(

I really love this one-shot and it's going to my favourites because I love it. It's very simple and unique. I...I just love it, I can't even explain it.

I am so happy that you picked up on it not glorifying parenting, because really, no one can know what to do with this new tiny bundle of baby!

Lily always has the right answer, but in this situation there really is no right answer, and that will definitely come as a shock to her in Before They Fall. But I couldn't wait that long to write just a tiny bit of baby world, so this slipped in ;).

They deserved to watch him go from a colicky baby to a fun child... ;(.

Thanks again so much for your wonderful review, darling! I have a new one shot in the queue right now, but it's a dark one. Not a happy loving Lily James one.
