Chapter 8 is published! You know what this means? It means FAN GIRL TIME! :D I seriously started jumping up and down during recess when I opened my laptop and checked HPFF! (Let's forget the fact that my friends thought I was a right lunatic. That's not important.) :P
Ooh! A Peverell! If I'm right, Antioch is the one that possessed the Elder Wand, correct? If so, I think I have a pretty good idea on why exactly he was killed on that unfateful night. That's very clever of you, by the way! I would never have thought or expected that!
The jousting is really good. I like the fact that both muggles and wizards alike chose to take on Venn, they should have known that they weren't going to last though...but they didn't really see what they Venn had in it for them, did they?
Speaking of Venn and his act, as strange as it might sound, I found it romantic. Though, I can't say that I'm not disappointed with what he did, I'm sure he only did it to be sure that his victory is secured -and I found that romantic. I don't think Helena did though and that will surely play a large factor to their marriage -if they are ever going to be married.
Right now, I'm on the point where I'm just completely clueless on what's going to happen next. I know I've always been kind of clueless with the chapters anyway, but at least I have a vague idea on what will happen on the next chapter or so! I don't even know if Helena's going to marry Venn! I checked on Harry Potter wikia and it doesn't say anywhere that they get married, so my hopes are slowly shrinking away. :
Helena's here! How lovely to see her! I really enjoyed the way you wrote her. She's so kind and sweet, especially when it came to the topic of Helena's marriage. Somehow, I felt her sweetness radiate through the screen. Which freaks me out a bit because that might be an indication of me going really crazy.
Your 'Did You Know: Medieval History Edition' things at the end of every chapter is as much interesting as the story itself! When I read something that seems very medieval in the chapter, I instantly think "Oh, there's going to be an explanation for that later!" I just love those parts and I can only imagine how much time you spend researching on those details! Thank you. (:
And now, the wait for chapter nine begins! Also, I'm really happy that I managed to help you with my reviews, though I have no idea how. :P *more clueless-ness from Izzy*
I'll be back for chapter nine,
Author's Response: Ahh, hi Izzy! I'm so happy to see you again! :)
You are exactly right about Antioch, and I'm glad you approve of my use of him. I felt like his arrogant attitude would suit him well here. Plus, it only serves to make Venn more protective of his inheritance and his mother.
Ooh, it's great that you liked Venn, even if he was a bit of a jerk in this chapter :) Your suggestion that he use magic to cheat a little bit inspired a lot of his behavior in this chapter, so you can thank yourself at least partially for the way that he turned out. I felt like it fit in perfectly with his Slytherin characterization, and I really appreciate you mentioning it, because it helped me a lot. You'll have to stay tuned for the next chapter to see how he explains his behavior here.
It's great that you liked Helga, too. I tried to make her friendly and welcoming but also a little bit sassy. I put the feminist parts of my personality into her (which, really, is a lot of it). As for Helena and Venn actually getting married, well... can't give too much away. I guess we'll just have to find out together!
Aww, thanks! I'm glad you appreciate my research. A lot of thought goes into each chapter, which is part of why it takes me a while to get each one finished. It makes me happy to hear that you find my little tidbits interesting and look forward to learning about them at the end of each chapter. I'll definitely continue to include them in future chapters.
Thanks for another fabulous review, Izzy! Chapter nine will be up in about a month :)
