Review:academica says:
OH, FOR GOD'S SAKE, STOP CRYING. -sighs-

ANYWAY! Oh, Beth. It was nice to read something light after finishing Growing Up Weasley, and I love how coy she tried (and failed) to be about her attraction to Severus. I also love that James was compassionate; it shows, again, that he's more mature and that he's a bit nicer to a friend that he would be to just anyone who had a secret (but perhaps obvious) attraction to Severus.

D'aww. I love how Lily and Beth are girlfriends now. It's too cute to imagine them working on Gryffindor banners together in the common room. I imagine it's a bit awkward for poor Beth, but it's nice to read about a point in Lily's life where she's not at James's throat but not over the moon, either; she's still excited about getting to know him.

The ending! ♥ It's kind of adorable how Severus and Lily are treating each other these days, and since most of what I've been writing for them lately is painpainPAIN and awkward, I like seeing a lighter twist on it. Obviously I love the subtle interaction between Severus and Beth, too. Maybe hope isn't lost after all, Beth! :)

Fab, as always. I'll be back again!

♥ Amanda

Author's Response: I actually saw this review before your one on GUW, and that first line massively confused me. :D But then I went to it, and all made sense in the world once more!

I think one of my favorite parts about the Sneth relationship, at least at this stage, is all the sort of failed attempts at conveying something the pair of them have between them. I think that kind of goes into the misunderstandings category (which, as you know, is fraught with occurrences), but these are happier misunderstandings. :3 James definitely is more mature than I think a lot of people portray him, and I've always thought of him as more mature than Sirius, despite the pair of them being ringleaders, as it were.

I loved writing that scene; I know I've said this before, but I've grown to like writing Lily a bit more in writing this. She used to be very... Ginny-like for me. But where I don't like Harry with Ginny, I think James and Lily are a good match. Go figure, yeah? I'm also a huge fan of writing her at this point in her life, too, so there is that.

I still need to read some of your Snily! I know you'll have pulled it off brilliantly. :) It was rather fun to integrate a bit of Snape/Lily into these earlier parts of the story, before things got running with the Snape/OC bit. Because canonically explaining that away at all was a bit tricky, so I liked that initial canon firmness! (Words. They don't even make sense anymore.)

Thank you so much once again! Gahh, I'm so incredibly pleased you're reading this story. :3 It thrills me to bits. Hope to see you back soon!! ♥
