I loved it.
Really, I did.
It was so lovely and managed to capture the fluff but not miss the seriousness of the fact that there was a war going on.
I like I like it better with the characters here than I would have with Lucius and Narcissa. I love Narcissa as a character, I find her intriguing, but I'm not sure how she would have fit here. I'm sure you had a plan thought :)
I think my favorite of the two scenes was James/Lily. I ship them so hard it hurts sometimes.
Their relationship in this was so realistic, and yet adorable at the same time. The fluff overwhelmed you, but in the sort of way it does when you look at two people you know who are truly in love.
I literally laughed out loud at the part where James told her she had put on a few pounds. I love that you brought humor in as well, and it only added to their relationship.
You asked about the characterization of James, which I think you've done a brilliant job with. Honestly, spot on, exactly how I always imagine him.
And I love Alice/Frank. I think they are so underrated as a fan fic couple, or as fan fic characters, instead always getting shoved to the side as Lily's best friend or another member of the Order, never getting to be characters in their own right. Their scene was also adorably fluffy, but Alice's concerns about it being war time sent a ring of truth going through it all.
I think the best part of this one shot was the realism, in case you didn't get that.
This truly was amazing, and I loved your characterizations overall.

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad that you thought leaving Narcissa out was a good idea (you're thinking was the same as mine. Narcissa and Lucuis didn't 'mix' with James and Lily and everyone else. It would have just looked out of place.

I loved writing the Jily scene :) Those two really are perfect for one another. Haha, thank you as an avid angst writer, I'm glad that the humor was good :P
